First Service
Has anyone taken in your E90 for it's first service yet ? My car has 8800kms now and the service indicator shows 22 000 kms ( which I think means 22 more to go - can anyone confirm ? ) .
Anyway , I'm hoping the oil holds up for such a long interval ... |

confirmed. 22,000 to go but depending on how you drive, it could be less but still a long time to go.
as for oil, there are a number of discussion threads for some interesting reading. all the best.

I could be wrong...but doesn't the service indicator indicate when your service is due? Ie you service is due at 22000km's and NOT IN 22000km's time.
I think it's different to the e46! |

i was not aware that bmw changed this around. now you mention it, seems kind of logical bcausemy old e46 sii kept counting down every 50kms, rain, hail or shine. my car has 3,500kms on it with 1st service still at 25000kms so if you are correct (and i don't doubt you) then that's why the numbers haven't changed but what about other people's car's readings? if you are wrong though,....that's good for another thread. now why go and change it bmw? well, im confused. e90fleet? thanks b1.

Mine is still reading 15000km's and I've done 4000km's today. There is no way my 4000km's of "HARD" driving hasn't changed it.
There was a thread like this on beemerfest once...I think the conclusion was that the manual is infact wrong!? Interesting. What we need is poeple to quote their milage, service interval indicator reading and driving style so we can conclude...lets get scientific! |

Well , when I got the car it read 25 000kms. Then during break in it rose to 26 , and now it's down to 22. So the thing seems to be working.

Ok. I just checked all the counters again. After my 4000km's (Visiting dave) the only thing that has changed is the brakes. It now says my front and back pads need to be changed at/in 20 000km's (depending on how this system works)
I am having a hard time believing that the 15 000km service interval hasn't dropped even after I've done 4000km's. I'm almost a third of the way there, and if it's a count down...it should have dropped a bit at least? In my E46 I noticed a drop less than 2 days after my last service. It went from 25000km's down to 24500km's! Maybe it's time to take it in for to ask them, and to get my intermitent click fixed (seatbelt click - does it like every 15th drive) |

I heard the diesels need to be serviced approx every 15 000 km's. I would take my car in just to check...there's no harm in being safe! Let us know! |
