Actually Chuck Taylor and some Sketchers make pretty good driving shoes. Definitely better than waffle running shoes.

Most loafers work well, I also have similar loafers and they feel comfortable.

Exactly! I can see how the converse can be comfortable.

Barefoot, flipflops, boots, whatevs. Once you get used to a manual, it all works.

Us men have it easy
You can say that again. My wife can drive her Jetta Sportwagen TDI Manual with heels on just as she would in flats. No stalling or jerkiness. It's impressive to say the least.

Driving shoes

Do any of you guys have a special set of shoes for driving in?

If so, any recommendations.

Thanks,
PB

I got some Allen Edmonds driving shoes, not necessarily for driving but to have something I can put on to run a quick errand. I love my other AE shoes but find these uncomfortable when walking around in them so they are just sitting in my closet.

Broken in Chucks or certain styles from Vans work well.

Like the watch thread, this thread is likely to spiral out of control.

Having said that, I'll start. I have the above mentioned Tods in suede and brown leather. They are unequaled on long hauls. The bottoms are small rubber stubs that dig into the pedals well. Just don't plan to walk in them much...they don't last long when you do that.

I'm going to guess most who post in the watch thread will also post here. The narcissism level in the BMW crowd is high
