When I need a truck its got a load of lumber/other in it or 32' of gooseneck trailer behind it weighing between 9 and 12k lbs

Its not a daily driver.....using it that way is a waste of money....at least for me......others do as they please

I had a 2014 Raptor, fully done up. Took it offroad a handful of times, was too wide for jeep trails but on open, outdoor terrain it was fantastic.

If you want to tow their are better options as the Raptor is setup more for different types of terrain - it is much "softer" than a normal F150.

It stinks they no longer have the V8 but if you can live with the new sound, the Ecoboost 6 is proven to be a beast and you're going to get great power/torque and do much better than the 10-12mpg I was getting with my V8.

I had a supercrew and like the regular F150, it's bigger than some studio apartments in NYC. Parking was a pain until you realized you just park wherever you want.

Honestly I loved my Raptor and cannot wait to get into another one. I dig the new ones.

A really thick plastic liner will help with some of this but its not going to mitigate the fatigue issue that aluminum is subject to in this kind of work use
Who the fuck is going to drop bricks into the bed of their truck like this? No ONE.

One of the funnest trucks I ever had. The craziest thing is the suspension. It would glide over pot holes like it wasn't there. I have several huge dips on the road from storm drain channels going to work and I would take those at full speed and the truck would just glide over it. I'm pretty sure if I did that with anything else, the car would be air born and jumping off track all over the place.

I would love to get a new one eventually...

The weight reduction afforded by the aluminum construction is cool and all, but if it were me, I'd rather snatch up a MY '13 or '14 CPO Raptor while I still could. The current generation F-150 got beat with the ugly stick something fierce.

That's one of the coolest trucks , I can't deny I like them but I would rather like to have F350 instead .

The giant ford logo on the grill is dumb. So are the fake dirt spray vinyls. Otherwise, awesomesauce.

I'm glad they went away from the dirt spray vinyl a few years back as it wasn't my favorite either. the decals on the gen 2 are much less intrusive than the previous ones, but I still ordered without any. The 2k they want for the vinyl options is crazy to me.

Its a cool toy and if funds were unlimited I would probably buy one

But since I can only afford a single truck....the ford aint at the top of the list because it isnt able to do the things I need a truck to do

I've been very impressed by the all aluminum Ford. If I was buying a truck, that's what I would get. Brilliant engineering move by Ford.

The Raptor is an off road vehicle that is a fairly good DD.
What the Raptor is not is a work pickup. Its too soft and too high.
Disclosure: I have owned two and will take delivery of a 2017 in a month or two.

I think they're fucking Badass, with a capital B.

In a few years when I want something newer, I might be hard pressed NOT to look for a CPO Raptor. Such a great looking, intimidating vehicle.

Ill be on my third as well. And I have to disagree a bit, Its a very capable truck, but maybe my definition or "work" is different from yours.

Work- tow a boat or trailer, haul shit, put bikes in back, hmm, haul some dirt for the wife. home depot run.
thats work and its very capable of that I think.

Wouldn't disagree. I just mean heavy duty work, like construction etc.
People in that line of work should stick to a heavy duty diesel.
Hauling for me has been so so, it is a little too soft. I use it for light duty.
I'm a cyclist and it works well for all my bikes.
Where it shines is off road. I have a townhouse in Red Lodge MT and it works great on very rough no maintenance mountain roads. I haul my mountain bikes into the backcountry a lot.

I never intend on buying a truck because (a) I like fun-to-drive vehicles too much and (b) I am obsessed with having interiors covered in leather wood and metal, not plastic. With that being said, a black F150 Limited with that sexy two-tone brown/black interior would be tight.

Trucks are 65K+ now. Too nice IMO to actually use as a truck. The auto makers are laughing all the way to the bank though, because people will sell a kidney to own a nice truck.
