Wanted Cobb for n54 e93
Looking to try a cobb box on my e93 335i.
Had a JB box before and kept getting engine management lights with it 😢 Went for a remap but still missing the power I had with the box attached. Anyone got one for sale? Cheers Lee

If you have a remap already then a Cobb won't help you much matey. The Cobb is an ECU flashing device and I believe you'd have to get the existing map removed before you can use the Cobb.
It's not like a JB4 which can be run alongside an ECU map.

You need a wedge flash with the JB4 mate 😉

Thanks for the input guys.
The remap really is not a patch on the jb4 when it was working properly. I have contacted cobb to clear up if I can use the v3 to remove the current map and flash with a new one.

Bit put off by the JB4 as I kept getting engine management lights under hard acceleration.
The wedge map does sounds very good from the bit of research I did last night though

It's the missing bit if you are FBO. His flash turned my car into a missile - was also having EML etc but with the right flash and map combo it's great.
I am running map 3 with No meth and can adjust my boost on the fly - again all helped by Wedge. Send him a donation and he will help adjust settings etc when you log your runs with jb4. The message I suppose is don't give up as it's worth it when you get it right !!

So do I just buy another jb4 ISO 5 and download the wedge flash to it? Currently have a panel filter and full stainless steel quad exhaust on the car. Looking at getting the down pipes and intercooler, what do you think? Cheers Lee

DP's is a must mate - massive gains from that mod. I would then do FMIC.
Do you have jb4g5 already ? There are two separate items to think about. The flash (via ODB port) is something you need to do yourself, this is where you apply the wedge flash - it will control your timing and fuelling (amongst other things). The jB4 is then you used for boost control and other piggyback functions - so it's a combination of both that you need. Tbh you need to be at FBO to get the most out of it ! Lije I said, DP's need to be yr next mod! You also need to read - go read here: http://www.n54tech.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=3 Read up on: [Admin Notified]. free flash tuning and E series N54 JB4 Everything you need is there !!

Lots of great information there, once I worked out what all the abbreviations stood for Don't have a jb4 box at the moment, had once previous but sold it due to the EML issue. Looking at purchasing another to get the Oomph back. Just found this blog gwhile googling FBO. 5-ways-to-full-bolt-ons-for-bmw-n54

I would stick with the Cobb, just miles easier to manage than JB4.

Previously had a JB4 iso5 but sold due to engine management light issues and the fact it took 10 mins to activate from cold. Not enough oomph from from my current Angel remap. The Cobb option looks like the way to go when I can pick one up. Keeping an eye on the US and Canada forums as well, they don't come up very often In the UK |
