Anyone else had this malfunction popped up? From some older posting, it could be the glue/adhesive not properly done around the sharkfin or backup battery but not sure if anyone else had this on the LCI?

twice now I've gotten the message "Chassis" and some nonsense that my chassis settings are not available. I also got a note that one of my headlights could not be aligned properly. When you turn off the car these go away. Also got a note once (that went away) that the emergency system that calls someone was not working. And I am hearing creaking sounds from the left side of the dashboard. I wonder if it's a ghost.

Yeah the rolling button still worked for me. If your situation is like mine, it'll last for 2 days and disappear (hopefully). Looks like today should be your 2 day mark. I'd check tomorrow morning and see. Keep us updated.
The error went away! I started the day with the message and the buttons not working for the first two trips of the day then on the third start, the message just disappeared.

Thanks for your insight!

Yes, I got the same message about the emergency call system. Then it went away. We are all apparently getting these ghost messages. I wonder who makes their computers. I heard blackberry manufactured some of them but that was a few years ago. I never understood why it isn't the larger companies but I think the car companies don't want to be beholden to large difficult tech companies that could delay schedules. I do however think that integrated Waze or google maps would be superior to these clunky nav systems. Android auto is unwieldly and not seamless enough yet for my liking.

Got this message today. About 400 miles total on the vehicle. It went away and did not reappear the balance of today. We were on a 4 hour road trip

I had a “Right rear seat limited function “ error pop up. Then a few minutes later it was gone. Current mileage is 405 miles.

Has any one had an error message stick around that they needed to have serviced? Seems like so far it's been these weird ghost messages that disappear in a few days.

I bought an x7 m60 off lot in early sept. I had a few of these issues and I took the car in. The diagnostic work was performed in conjunction w bmw engineering and they decided after a couple weeks that it needed a new module- from Germany. It felt like my x7 was used as a Guinea pig for bmw QC. A few more weeks passed and due to part availability my x7 is now a lemon. As of yesterday, the x7 is still not repaired…I think it's been 6-7 weeks now. A new x7 m60 is on order. Production supposed to begin on 10/31. At first they gave me an 8 series loaner, then a sequoia then an expedition and now we have a minivan to wait out the new arrival. 😬 notably this was my first bmw and it plus the 8 series experience was good enough to spark my interest in an m5 which I bought in mid September. LOVE the m5. The x7 is my wife's and she's been a good sport about it but it has been a bit frustrating.
