03/2022 and CarPlay Volume

My app finally did an update and it was for 7/2021 I think. It completely downloaded and was just waiting for me to do the actual update. I was going to do it, but just been busy.

Fast forward to today and I took my car in for service. I mentioned to them that the car is ready for a software update and they said they would take care of it.

I pick it up to discover they installed 03/2022.

One thing I noticed immediately is that my CarPlay volume seems lower. The bass isn’t as pronounced and the overall level seems softer.

Anyone else notice this? I checked my phone volume and it was maxed. Is there another input level volume adjustment?

when connected via CarPlay, iPhone volume is maxed out and can't be adjusted locally on the iPhone.

did you check Sound settings in iDrive? many settings reset to default after a software update.

All of the sound and EQ settings are the same.

Is 3/2022 only installed at the dealership right now? I’m wondering if not enough people have it yet to notice a difference. It’s very noticeable to me.

Thanks. Maybe others will notice as the rollout increases for 3/2022.

I just got the car back from service and they installed 03/2022.40 and I notice no issues with the car play volume.
