m-sport vs non m-sport
Do you believe the m-sport is worth the extra $. Besides the front bumper, small exterior color differences and steering wheels, what else is different? I'm having a hard time picking between m-sport and non, I feel like in some videos the non m-sport with silver trim looks better than the m-sport, and some videos I like the front bumper of the m-port.
As of now i'm leaning towards the non m-sport with 22" wheels, which is also something to think about as they do not seem to have all season tires. I feel like the non m-sport fits the giganticness of the x7. Would love to see both in person. What are your thought between the two? Decisions Decisions |

Go with your gut! Most of us are ordering site unseen, including myself. If you don't love it when it comes in, then you don't buy it. I chose to go with the MSport. Didn't really like it at first in the press release photos, but after seeing the first real life pics I totally flipped and wanted that thing. I also love a lot more of the sporty looking features like the black alcantara head liner, steering wheel, M badging, shadow line trim, bumpers, brakes, wheels, etc.... If there was a X7M, I'd want it. Good luck with your decision. Beautiful vehicle, either way in my opinion. Wish I could have my damn car now!

For me, it's the front nose styling of the M-sport, and the subdued non-chrome M-sport trim, that makes the M-sport so much more aesthetically pleasing.
Now... is it worth all that $$$ for what ends up really being mostly an aesthetic difference? That's a lot of money for what is mostly looks. Up to you. |

It is probably an error on the German build your own website. The BMW Canada X7 build your own website also has an error. It shows the aluminum running boards being available on the M Sports package, which is wrong. There is no way to get the aluminum running boards on the M Sports package. The M Sports package also comes standard on the X7 50i in Canada.

Thanks for helping me out with my decision!
I think I got it, m-sport with standard m-sport wheels bc needing all seasons. Now the question if the premium package is worth the 3k? I really love/need shades and you can’t add it as an option, it’s part of the premium. The premium package also has HK and heads-up display. Also wonder if premium package will matter on resale? This is my order. I did feel the premium package is over priced for what it is but really want most of the features that you can't get individually. I'm def goin to try negotiating as much as I can when its time to talk turkey at delivery. I always felt when spending this much on a car, ordering to your liking is a must. I don't want to regret after I'm driving it home and making payments. That being said, I really wanted the 50i but can not convince myself to hit/exceed the 6 figure mark for the extra power. And still haven't included CT sales tax @7.75%. Hows everyone else ordering??

Help... I just placed my order for my wife and family BMW X7 SUV. I currently own an M4, and cant decide if I want to keep the m-sport package on the X7 order or just go with the Luxury package. Do you guys/gals think is worth the extra +4K, especially since I already have a real M? Decisions, decisions...

With your color choice, do you prefer the chrome look or blacked out?
Personally, I think if you order the dynamic handling package and get the m sport brakes on the luxury build, there isn't much other than aesthetics difference to the m sport. |

For me, I knew my wife did not really care either way, so after flopping and twitching a bit, I decided to go with the M-Sport. In the end, I preferred the blacked out trim and sportier lines (and how they look similar to my M3). But for me, the final tipping point towards the M-Sport was the steering wheel - the M-Sport wheel is thicker than the Luxury line wheel. While I don't expect the performance of my M3 in the X7, I love the feel of a thicker steering wheel in the X7, just like my M3 (I actually have the M-Performance V2 steering wheel in my M3).

The luxury line comes with sensatec seats standard whereas m-sport comes with vernasca standard, so aside from the cosmetic differences, steering wheel, and standard wheel choice, there is a $1450 value in the seats. Assuming you wouldn't keep the sensatec on the luxury line, it's really more like a $2900 difference.

My philosophy is that I’ve got my 4 Series to be my sports car and my X7 to be my family car. The same way that I embrace the sportiness in my 4 Series, I embrace the luxury in my X7. There is something liberating about not having to worry about every bit of firmness in the suspension, every bit of feel in the steering, every last shift point. Let that go with this ride. So let that chrome shine, sink into that leather, drive the speed limit, get yourself a chunky cargo box for the roof, let your hair down, and treat this BMW like the plush living room it actually is. |

The exterior cosmetics should be an emotional choice. I like the M Sport look, so I went with an M50i. I feel I've got the best of both worlds in a big SUV; beautiful looking exterior and ultra-quiet and comfort in comfort mode, amazing power and sportier feel in sport modes.

It is a hard choice indeed. The wife doesnt really ‘care’ for the m-sport look, but I have always loved the sport look on all my BMW’s. Even though it will not be my main car, I still think that I will miss how gorgeous the m-sport trim looks on this vehicle, plus what I will get standard and options available for the $4,350 option:
- Included Vernasca Leather- $1,450 - included Anthracite alcantara headliner- $1,000 - Option to get the 755M - Option to get the extended shadowline trim Yes, the wife doesnt need all of that, but I know I will miss it when I drive it if I dont get it. |
