Sports Steering Wheel Trim
Hi Guys,
I've ordered a UK spec 330i with the standard matt titanium interior and also selected the sports steering wheel. Does anyone know what the trim in the steering wheel will be? I have ordered a black sports steering wheel but think that UK spec matt titanium trim adds the titanium trim to the sports wheel. My delaer believes I will get a black sports steering wheel but I'm not so sure? I hope it is black as I'm not keen on the titanium trim in the steering wheel and didn't even know the different trims existed when I ordered my car. If it does end up to be titanium, can the dealer easily replace the trim to black? Any help or advice would be appreciated. My car is expected on 13th June, its been made and is being prepared for delivery to UK, and therefore the dealer said I have to wait until it arrives at the dealer before he can confirm. |

Hi Beauforty,
In Sweden if you order the standard trim you will get it on the sports steering wheel as well. I agree with you, I think it looks better with a black steering wheel. I have ordered the alu interior which comes with a black steering wheel, but I think you should be able to replace the matt trim to black. Regards Jörgen |

I've got Matt Titanium trim in mine , and I ordered the sports steering wheel too. I didn't specify that I wanted black or matt titanium trim. It arrived with Matt Titanium. It matches the dash and looks cool.

a3ndy, looking at your picture, how come you only have one disc-loading slot in your radio unit? Is that a CD slot? If so, where do you put your navigation DVD? Thanks.

You can only put either a music cd or the Navigation DVD in. I have tried it where once I the Idrive has calculated the journey, I was able to eject the DVD and play a music CD and use the Nav guide also. I play most of my music through my Ipod via the Aux, so music CDs are not a requirement for me. |

Thanks for your answers everyone. Sounds like I will be getting a titanium steering wheel (which is not what I want or ordered). I will ask the dealer to change the trim to black before I collect the car. Sounds like it should not be any trouble for the dealer.

Andy, do you need to have Nav Pro to have both the dash CD & DVD?

a3ndy, were you charged extra for the trim or just the standard £65 for the sports wheel?

I think that with NAV Pro you get two drives like you stated. BUS NAV only the one. |

Just spoke to BMW UK, they are very helpful. They said that my sports wheel should be black unless I specified a different trim. Matt titanium trim does not automatically mean titanium trim for the sports wheel. Yes, I should have a nice black sports wheel!

Wanna bet they don´t know what they´re talking about? I have not seen a car with matt titanium trim beeing delivered without the titanium wheel trim on the sports wheel. Information from dealers and even distriubtors of BMW (sometimes even from BMW themselves) is so often so wrong. |

GBP 170 for the sport wheel as spare part plus GBP 100 for fitting seems reasonable (well the fitting is a bit steep, but by maybe by GBP30-40). So, where´s your beef? |

Thanks Tierfreund. At least I've already had the sports wheel factory fitted. So you think its only £20 for the replacement black trim? I'm sure my dealer can bear the cost of that!
