So is there a problem for rear seat comfort without getting either the Cold Weather Package or 5-zone Automatic Climate Control? Something about the rear seats getting not vents??

If you don't get the Cold Weather Package, you will not get 3rd row vents. But there is actually more to it than that.... The 3rd row vents are not just merely vents that bring in hot or cold air from the front HVAC system. The 3rd row actually gets a separate HVAC system, which is installed behind the driver side trim behind the third row.

What if I get the 5-zone Automatic Climate Control but not the Cold Weather option? in 2019 x50i, I believe you can do that. Does this give the 3rd row vents and controls?

Yes. Beginning with 2020, you can get the 5-zone Automatic Climate Control as a stand alone option which will give you the third row vents/control (I forgot they added that for 2020).
