It's a big corporate cock tease. I've been waiting for this car almost 5 years, before it was even a concept. Then we finally get to preorder on Oct 16. "Be the first to own one" so give us 1000 and now wait 5 months to get one ,but anyone else who wants one now will get it the same time. And then 5 months after we get the car you'll be able to order a 2020 model. Makes me so happy..lol

Ah, yes. No port in this case as they're produced in SC. Guess they'll just line 'em up in the huge parking lot next to the factory, and then ship them towards end of February for the March launch.

At least you guys in the states are able to place an order right now and get a production number. My dealer in Toronto is still waiting for the ordering guide from BMW Canada. Its strange they don't have the dealer ordering guide because BMW added the X7 to the build your own BMW Canada website last week.

This is true. I always wonder about new models that are released mid-year, and you can get the next MY just a few months later.

I agree. I just hope they will eventually offer a diesel engine option.

Has production started for anyone? If so what is the current status? My status has changed to "Scheduled For Production" with build week 10 . BMW genius still confirms the official launch date as Mar 16.

Pipe, what you end up deciding on 22s vs 21s?

I'm m sport configured, thinking long and hard about adding the 755M to my order, but wavering about whether or not I want to deal with dedicated winters

I went with 22's, I had to. Im a huge fan of wheels and believe they ultimately make a huge difference in the vehicles esthetics, either make it look awesome or like s**t. I saw the 755Ms and knew that I wanted them. My second favorite (756) didn't come on the Msport package but were still 22s. Maybe I'm stupid but I'd rather have the look I love and deal with rougher ride and snow sitch. I'll figure it out next year before the snow season. Hopefully we get some all season non run flat options and I'll buy a set of those.

I’m right there with you on rims. Would rather get the right ones and live with some inconvenience

The delay in delivery & production is because the X7 hasnt been certified by the EPA yet, with the govt shut down its unknown when that will be done.

So BMW is not really at fault.

I learned about the delay on my build on Dec 10 which was several weeks before govt shut down and from what I understood, the EPA has already completed and released its test results and there's an entire thread on it. Did I misunderstand something?

+1, i thought same.

and don't know of any official delay of any kind. x7 has always been communicated to deliver starting in march, dating back to nov.

only thing that has changed, unless i'm mistaken, is some impatient buyers got their hopes up for earlier delivery and those hopes have since been dashed.

Actually it was buyers that were given incorrect information from their dealers, but thanks for calling the customer out.

Correct. When I started the thread I was told that info by a CA who I've bought 10 cars from about half of them orders.

Yes, so exactly what I said. Got their hopes up (because of misinformation). Didn’t we tell those buyers, real time, right here in this forum, they weren’t getting their car earlier than march despite their knucklehead ca saying otherwise?
