An Alpina X7 is Possibly on the Way

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Didn't see this posted anywhere, but Motortrend states that Alpina is testing the X7 for a potential new Alpina model. This wouldn't be the first Alpina SUV, as the XD3/4 exist, but it could possibly be the first Alpina SUV to come to the US

Original Article -> https://www.motortrend.com/news/glor...m=&utm_source=

Quote:
The 2020 X7 M50i is more powerful and heavier still, with a 523-hp 4.4-liter twin-turbo V-8 and a BMW-estimated 0-60 time of just 4.5 seconds. As for the BMW Alpina XB7 (the hot SUV's likely name), it could have as much as 600 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque, potentially matching the 2020 Alpina B7 and its twin-turbo V-8. Engineering a tall three-row crossover isn't the same as working on a large luxury sedan with a lower center of gravity, however, so we'll have to wait to learn more on the potential next best-selling Alpina model in the U.S.

Thanks for posting! Very cool, and if I had a ton of extra money, that's probably what I'd do myself.

The 2020 B7 is beautiful so I can only imagine what an Alpina XB7 might look like. It's a great marketing idea.

Standard Bumper, Alpina badge, same wheel style, same blue paint, spoiler in the rear, trim with logo, seats with logo. Ah, and tune.

Done!

As an American anything Alpina get my blood flowing... it's something about the original BMW tuner that just clicks... the right amount of power and bling... it whispers cool without shouting it from the rooftops.

That being said, it's gonna be a $140k+ SUV... and that for me will require a CAT scan to make sure I'm ok... I get spending that cash on an exotic but on MY wife's grocery getter that she is probably gonna curb rash and bumper car through the local Saks parking lot... I think not...

There is definitely a market for Alpina doing so.... .. because it won't be until about the THIRD generation model that BMW gets around to making a full blown M version... ( See: X5, See X3)

Why wouldn't you just stick a JB4 on your M-Sport N63'd X7? Am I missing something here?
