235 (2015) LSD oil fill?

Hi, is the LSD differential oil drain plug the same hole that is used to fill the differential? Thanks!

Took a look at couple of Regal Autosport YouTube where they installed new LSD on M240i, and appears to be that same hole for refill. Maybe use the refill as opportunity to replace stock plug with magnetic one.

Yes it is. It is a bit of a pain due to that. With my track car that uses the smaller BMW 168K diff (compared with the 215w diff on the M235i/M240i) with an LSD that requires frequent oil changes, I machined a flat and threaded a hole into the bottom of the casing to insert a magnetic drain plug:

Excellent solution. I would need to remove the diff in order to make sure there were no filings/metal in the diff.

Thanks for the reply.

It is a pain to change the fluid because of making sure the car is level. Not the easiest car to place on four jack stands. I always think that the lifting of the car one corner at at time can twist of flex the chassis to much.

The old Porsche 911's had a center side jack, this allowed you to jack up the entire side of the car.
