So everything I previously posted about my understanding was correct. there is/was s stop sale (verses a stop drive) and there was an indicator that there was a fix. That fix was applied.

The dealer misunderstood what BMW intended or something got lost in translation as they (BMW) have since decided that the stop sale fix may not be the fix after all. At some point soon BMW will get this figure out and release the cars.
Is this with all 23 models?

LOL,

Just got a call from my CA, fix is out and car will be flashed today.

I'll go pick it back up Monday afternoon. (Edit, granted BMW has ensured the car os 100% ready to go)

So, that bodes well for the rest of you.

Does the '23 X7 have the 370 hp B58? Was that confirmed?

Is there a technical description of the changes somewhere?

How many miles should you expect on these wheels/tires? I love the look, but I'm weary of the life

The full X7 press release talks about it in some detail: https://www.press.bmwgroup.com/globa...78353EN/555266

Some key notes from previous version:
+47 hp/+52 lb/ft
Uses Miller cycle, which improves fuel economy and emissions
0.5 seconds faster 0-62 mph (5.8 seconds quoted)

This is making me lean toward getting the 40i instead of M60i. Almost 400 hp and torque is probably enough for my uses, plus lower maintenance and fuel costs if I keep this 8-10 years. I would love to hear more driving impressions, especially from previous owners of the 40i. Also curious, of course, of how the mild hybrid M60i S68 compares against the M50i N63.

Also worth noting the gen 2 mild hybrid is now attached to the transmission and adds 147 lbft of torque when the ice is off boost or mid/low rpm

Yes it does. But the slats only open when the computer determines more airflow is needed.

I appreciate your anxiousness to get the car, but I would never have driven it off the dealer's lot.

There is one outstanding NHTSA safety recall on '23 X7s involving the sunroof possibly operating in the absence of the key fob, and this is likely a software issue. If this is the stop sale issue, your dealer is not permitted to sell, lease or loan the vehicle under any circumstances, and if you are in an accident, regardless of its cause, the "fit is gonna hit the shan" because your vehicle is illegally on the road.

Hope it all works out for you, but I'd be talking to the dealer ASAP.
Yes the dealer did the wrong thing here. And you I understand were excited but you should have left the car the minute you heard stop sale. Many things can go wrong here. Don't ask me how I know. I will plead the 5th.

Function over form… I don't think many X7 40i end up hood open in the show line at cars and coffee
Nobody wants to see the little pop can motor. The v-6 on a full size SUV lol

It would take 2 hours to go over every single part of the car. No one has time for that (except for the retired).
Everyone has time lol especially when picking up a new BMW. People act like they don't got time yet spend more time than that in line at various places.
