good call on Brembo. Years ago I was at SEMA and the Brembo guy was taking me through all the calipers they had. They had a kit for an after market kit for a Viper and I asked them why Brembos from the factory sucked on the late 90s Viper. He basically said, Brembo recommended this setup over here, but Dodge chose an undersized product product from our catalog.

brembo also charges the mfg to advertise brembo versus having their own name on the caliper. what annoys me the most is bmw calipers have an ///M on one side and W/// on the other. I attempted to buy two of the same kind of caliper and was told i can't and even if i could it would not mate up properly.

Exactly, it all comes down to cost engineering. Just because it says Brembo doesn't mean the brake is good, as in the case of the Range Rovers and their annual "requirements" of changing brake pads

Interesting point. I know for a fact that Ferrari does not pay anything to Brembo to use their name on the Ferrari brake calipers

Right but the thread was cross-shopping RR vs. X7. Either way I think this thread derailed quicker than a 80's Amtrak train. Time to move on for me.
