That LED has always matched the rest of the ambient lighting color. Since day 1. Now it’s stuck in white.

I do have the 07/2023.53 update but confirmed that my B&W logo does change color with the rest of the ambient lights. Looks like this update does introduce a few glitches like CEL, DAPP not working but transient for the most part except some cases like yours unfortunately. Did you try an idrive reset? And is it stuck in white even if you change to modes with the fixed lighting schemes like Sport or EcoPro?

You mean it's supposed to change with the ambient color choice?

When I switch between drive modes the LED flickers like it’s going to change as normal but just stays in white. Tried both Sport and Eco Mode.

Also tried resetting the head unit and no luck.

Just upgraded to 07/2023.53 this morning (iDrive 8.5). Hope it fixes my carplay issues. One feature that seems new. When turning on/off the car, the odometer (miles) appears on the bottom of the screen. Finally a way to see how many miles are on the car without going through 50 screens and clicks.

So far, haven't found any other new features.

Oh sorry, I am talking about my old 2021 X5M with ID7.
So the X7 changes the ambient color of the B&W dash speaker? Didn't think that would apply to the X7 only.

As far as I know it does not apply to yours. There are many changes between yours and the LCI X7.

My car has downloaded the updated software but it is stuck for over 2 weeks now saying it cannot install because the start battery is low. How is that possible since I drive the car every day for over an hour. I may have to take it to the dealer.

battery only charges in an overrun condition (braking or coasting)
if its highway driving with constant throttle the battery wont charge much.

my '23 had the 07/2023.53 update pop up today after checking for RSU from the car. I had 07/2023.33 from a service visit in july already, it seemed like a pretty small download ( 400mb). wonder if it only downloads the deltas.

I have a 2021 X7 M50i (pre LCI) purchased as a CPO. The B&W speaker LED on top the dash has always displayed in white color during my 1 year of ownership, and does not match the color selection of my ambient lighting. I think it would be cool if it would match.

They need to provide a user-friendly list of what value is added by the upgrade. Reality is probably they’re doing bug fixes and other things that may help them improve but unclear to me what is improving my experience. For example I’ve given up on CarPlay. And there’s other improvements that seem obvious but don’t know if they’re on the roadmap.

Curious why you’ve given up on CarPlay. We just picked up and so far so good. I’m planning to use CarPlay on all the time, so want to hear what we’re in for.

Unstable. Never really works consistently. On my iD8 and iD7 it was/is fine. In fairness I really like the BMW interface on iD8.5, so after struggling with it, gave up. Part of it is my wife and my phones fight each other even with the priority settings configured. But most of the time during the week it’s just one of us in the car and it won’t sync automatically or easily.
