COBB AP shakes on 3rd and 4th gear

Hey guys ...
Currently have a stock 335i(AT) with the Cobb tuner running Stock map. Anyway I have had injector issues before and I believe the dealership replaced 2 injectors don't remember which ones, but when I accelerate 1/2 throttle I feel a bit of hesitation shakes and that's only if throttle is pushed harder. I know if I use the tip-tronic it tends to be a bit more responsive and I don't get the shakes as much during harder acceleration. What do you guys think it is? Just wondering if I should uninstall Cobb and get my car checked out. I have extended warranty. Was thinking of taking my car in ... Do you guys think its the Cobb and my injectors not being able to handle the boost or just bad injectors. Tried putting fuel injector cleaner which really doesn't seem to help at all. I guess I am being presumptuous and assuming its the injection problem. Thoughts?

car sounds like is about to misfire?

Try pushing it to see if you can get it to misfire.

yeah ... before I submitted the thread I was thinking maybe I should uninstall cobb and see if I have the same problem. Plus, I should have things replaced before I get my fmic, dp's, and exhaust installed hehe

I just changed the plugs recently so they are new. I guess I could try and replace the coils on 3 and 4 but ultimately I should take it to the dealership. I guess that's what I paid for right? when i purchased the extended warranty

first you should look for codes. those will tell you which cylinder might be missfiring.

Uninstall it and attempt to replicate the problem. If you can't replicate the problem, check for codes to get an idea of what's going on.

I feel a slight sputter at around 50% throttle too on Stage 2+. I also have an auto and no codes are thrown. I believe Cobb is working on new maps but I must say that it definitely isn't as smooth as it should be.

With that said, I don't know if I should point the finger at the tune or a hardware issue but I am anxiously waiting for Cobb to release their refined maps so I can see if the hiccups go away.

Do you have traction and stability control off? If you're putting down too much power and causing the wheels to spin, the computer will stop that from happening, unless traction and stability control are off.

You guys should probably do some data logging, put the logs in an excel spread sheet with a graph, and post them up. I personally can't read them for shit, but many forum members can. Make sure your traction and stability are off, and do a pull including all of 3rd and 4th gear.

all nannies should be OFF, dry road with plenty of traction. if the oscillation is still there log the car and post the graphs (with virtual dyno is easy to plot them)
cobb is working on revised maps which are adressing these issues. i dont have boost oscillations for example. seems the cobb maps are playing well with my turbos.

Traction control is on but I am not giving it nearly enough throttle to break the tires loose when it occurs. If I do a full throttle pull I don't realize it. It only happens at about 50% throttle give or take.

What caused the final misfire? Plugs are fresh but I have read vanos and coils cause misfires fairly regularly. It's hard to figure it out since no codes are thrown.

Turn it off anyway, and try again.

But what's causing the misfire? I just changed the spark plugs ... Coils?

You'll just have to wait for actual misfire events that trigger a code and then go from there. If you start getting misfires in cylinder 5 and 2(just for example) then swap the coils to other cylinders and see if the misfire follows the coils. If it doesn't you're probably looking at injectors being the cause.

I tried various maps and also I uninstalled my Cobb and still got the hesitation shakes so I will be going to the dealership next week. I know before I had similar issues, worse issues, the dealership ended up changing two of my injectors. I'm not 100% but definitely 99.9% sure haha. I love this car but so far I have had various issues with this car commonly with the HPFP recall, and injectors. Good thing I got the extended warranty. Expensive, but peace of mind. Also, I have an E93 which may have mechanical issues down the line so it's nice to know I can always just take it back to the stealership
