Thank you for posting all of the articles in one location. As one of the controversies being the huge front kidney grills hurting the looks...it is actually growing on me. Seeing this in person helps and I think down the road it will be aesthetically pleasing.

Other than the grill (which I don't mind at all) reviews seem overwhelmingly positive, should be a real hit, just hope that it isn't plagued with any of the X5's gremlins.

Seems like BMW just can't win. It baffles my mind how people are looking for this to be a dynamic sports SAV/SUV. I feel like reviewers are too harsh and don't understand what they're reviewing. Instead of saying the X7 is not a dynamic, sporty SUV, they should be asking whether or not it's a better drive than the GLS and other competitors. The answer is likely to be yes. The X7 checks every other box in terms of what you're looking for in a 7-seater.

If BMW made this a sportier SUV, we would be hearing how nobody cares at this price point and something of its size. Now that BMW has focused on the people that will buy it, it's not sporty enough.

The X7 is by no means perfect, but some of these reviews are just not getting the purpose of this vehicle.

I think it suits the large physique real well.

I've seen nothing but positive reviews about handling dynamics.

I shouldn't have been overly dramatic and should have been more clear. When rating something like the X7, driving dynamics should not be used as a metric or point like where X7 should drive a BMW sedan. Autocar and Car and Driver all "questioned" its dynamics which I think is silly. All the rest simply reviewed it as what it is. A Large, luxury, refined and a bit sporty SUV.

To all of those wondering about wrinkles in the rear seats, as I know that is quite the controversy with the X5 at the moment, here is Edmund's X7 rear bench seat. As you can see overall good with only the slightest hint of wrinkles on the passenger side, although I do wonder if that is what most vehicles will look like since these are press cars.

Good to see the reviews coming in. I look forward to reading them. As one person here said, evaluate the car for what it is—a jumbo SUV, luxury class, with strong engines. This is not a sports car.

And I don't even think it close. I think the X7 did a way better job on its release than the GL did with the X166 back in 2013. There's not much, if anything, I would favour the GL with over the X7. Like one of the reviews above said, BMW might be late to the party, but they arrived and didn't hold much back. Aside from a Range Rover, if you were looking for a full-size SUV, there's not much in this segment that competes with the package the X7 provides.

I am admittedly not the target buyer for this vehicle, but I don't understand the concept of using the words 'driving dynamics' and 'X7' in one sentence. This vehicle seems to be sized figuratively like a tank. When I think of a tank I don't think of driving dynamics.

Certainly not the best looking SUV ever designed, but if you need the space and size, then I suppose it'll fit the suburban soccer mom's bill just fine!

Seriously Autocar - V6 engine on the 40i model? Lack of attention is so infuriating.

i've yet to work my way through all of these but did happen to read the C&D and Car Magazine reviews. I think their collective thinking is that "the jury is still out" on handling because of the fact the first drive review wasn't conducted on twisties. BMW set up a road trip for them over a lot of straight highway miles. The truck will drive great, I'm not at all worried about that. The only competition for it will be the GLS in that regard.

Car Magazine: "upsetting looks" LOL and "BMW predicts 40% of buyers will opt for the six-seater".

for me the msport trim is the best trim to help with the kidney grills. I saw it at my dealer and it looks amazing. Its such a large SUV and has a great presence on the road. THAT is what BMW wants.

Looking forward to the Straight Pipes review.

As for a dynamic sporty suv X7, we'll have to wait for the X7M Competition Shadow Edition mXdrive CS
