What length did you order for the tailgate protector piece?

Here's a screenshot of the selections I choose. They don't ask you to specify the length of the tailgate piece. You can however order the bumper flap which if you are going to go that route it is best to do that from the original order rather than ordering it at a later date. They make it fit a little better with the Velcro pieces if it's all ordered together.

Has anyone found a custom-fit liner that covers the trunk and 3rd row?

So they are a bunch of separate pieces that cover every piece of carpet from the back of the 2nd row through the 3rd row. I also got the side pieces. The cuts are perfect and it's truly complete coverage. I blacked out the stitching as it's my real last name

Cargo liner that covers third row?

So for those of you that have purchased the Canvasback covers, how easy is it to remove them? I like the protection they offer for when you need to occasionally carry dirty cargo (like dogs, lawn supplies, dirty tools, etc), but I am not sure I prefer the look of them installed all of the time (even though I don't plan to spend most of my time in the cargo area obviously )...

So basically for the initial install you peel off the paper of the underside of the Velcro tape to reveal the adhesive surface, than adhere it to the carpet surface. So, the one side of the Velcro stays on the carpet the next time you remove the liner. I haven't yet removed the liner, but it should be relatively easy... probably would take about 10 min for me to reinstall just because I don't want any wrinkles. But if you want it to look as nice as possible, try to get it installed nice and tight during the first install, that way you don't have to reposition the underside Velcro and weaken the bond.... and you may not mind leaving it installed if you get it perfectly smooth.

Once the Velcro adheres, you wouldn't have to ever remove that part, so taking it off is simply just pulling it off the Velcro strips leaving the one side attached to the carpet.

Yeah... as long as you don't install and remove to much that the Velcro side attached to the car starts to come off you should be good... and you can always by a role of Velcro tape and replace if needed I suppose

I did not order that piece, seemed a bit overkill.

Agreed...i think it's a much cleaner look without that extra tailgate flap

Ordered this as well. Thank you for the product tip. The tailgate cover tends to shift.

Otherwise happy with product. I still place a blanket on top (more friction) so that my Australian Shepherd doesn’t slide too much during turns

Bumping this thread to show another alternative for a rear cargo cover that I decided to go with. I like the Canvasback design, but I wanted a cover that had a less, semi-permanent install. I only wanted to pull the cover out when needed for the few occasions I needed to haul some dirty work, and then I could fold it up and easily store it inside the X7. I found this custom cargo area cover by Covercraft and it fit my needs perfectly.

Below are some installed pics I took after I got it. The loose straps you see in the pics are at the OEM hook/tie down locations (but I decided not to use them for this initial fitment test. Covercraft does not make any side panels, like Canvasback, but I was not as concerned with that area of the X7, at least not for now. Unfortunately, just like Canvasback, Covercraft does not offer a solution to cover the 3rd row arm rest area - so still looking for a solution for that.

It is divided into different sections that are connected with velcro. The 2nd row bench seats can fold independently. You can remove the back cover for the second row entirely if you wish as well. When not in use, the cover folds up and fits neatly in the rear storage area (and fits perfectly in the rear storage tray if you have the Space Saver Spare option or purchase the tray separately if you don't).

Price was $137 + shipping from the Covercraft website. These are made to order so shipping was longer than I would have preferred, which at the time of my order was a little over 3 weeks.

Did anyone found covers for third row side panels protection? I'm looking for detachable covers made from carpet. China sellers offers some leather looking covers, but I didn't liked them

For what it's worth, I'm still incredibly happy with ours, it's taken some serious spills and still looks like new nearly a year later. Dogs, sand, kids, she's taken a beating like a champ.

This is my cargo liner from Over The Top. It has a waterproof underside, is machine washable and I think goes well with the luxury feel of the X7. It also came with a smaller liner for when the third row is up.

I got the weathertech rear cargo and placed the BMW one toward the rear on top of it. Works great and has the lip so can keep some stuff from rolling all around back there.
