You can't turn it off. You can set it to remember the last setting so when you turn it off it stays off. I believe ECO mode always turns it on.

I am trying to code on my iPhone, but am only seeing these two modules available. I am on the latest version of the app for ios. Am I missing something?

FYI for anyone with a 2020

I reached out to bimmercode support, and got this response

Hi,
the software in your car is too new and the app is missing the required data. This will be added with the next app update soon.

I can't find this in X7 M50d 2020 - I have full BimmerApp but this menus are not visible. Also expert mode is not visible in HUD settings.
Is there any other way how to enable XVID codec?
Thanks
Steve

Has anyone had any luck playing Youtube videos on the screen? I can't figure out how to do it.

Probably because the app developer has not mapped all of the "quick function options" for the G07 yet, to spend more time developing the app for the more common BMW G-series cars (like the 3-series). In time they will come to the G07 since all of the iDrive 7 based G-series cars have the same basic overall "operating system".

However, once the app developer unlocks a particular ECU, you can still code the ECU using Expert Mode, as long as you know the specific parameters to change for the functionality you want. IIRC, quite a few ECUs have been unlocked for the G07.

You can check the coding forums in some of the more popular BMW forums, like the 3-series, for more ideas (and parameters) of what is possible to code. The G05 X5 forum would be a good one too since the X5 and X7 are the very similar. But be careful with Expert Mode. There are A LOT of available parameters in each ECU. However, most of them are not applicable to the typical functions people want to code. Changing the wrong parameters could screw up something in your car....

Has anybody tried to figure out if you can code the air suspension? The adjustment in the car won't allow you to access the lowest setting unless you're parked. There must be a way to allow that ride height while driving. That would be easier than adjustable lowering links which I also can't seem to find.

Have you tried restoring the factory settings and coding again?

Anyone have any info if the trunk coding error I'm getting is specific to my setup and vehicle or is it actually a common issue. Or maybe even if it's already resolved ?
TIA

I had VIM working for a long time, brought the car in for service and they updated/reset everything now when I go back to get this program I get a "coding not possible" error and hu_mgu is greyed out.

Anyone know how to get around this?

If your dealer updated the software to 07/2021.xx then you'll have to wait for bimmercode to release a new version that supports the newer idrive software.
I'm in the same boat.
