Told the Wife that it doesn't have Android Auto, there was a moment of silence and she said "Then we can't get this vehicle" LOL she was joking.

For sure it's disappointing, agree about the vent sets. The Lexus has one of the strongest vent seats I've been in, more so than my S550.

Perhaps the Europeans did not focus on this due to their cooler climates?

I looked into the seat issue a bit more. I read over in the x5 forum that the vented and massage seats help during long trips and it was mentioned that the vented seats take up to 15mins before you feel a difference. Can anyone confirm this?

I have mine set to come on automatically when the outdoor temp is above a certain point, so they’re on almost all of the time. I’ve never noticed a difference regardless of how long they’ve been running.

On the positive, the MB GLS has much more effective ventilation, but the pushing of all that air is kinda loud. So at least the X7’s ventilation is quiet.

The massage feature is not extreme, but I don’t think it’s intended to be. It’s equivalent to what you’ll get from Mercedes.

Yes, lots of discussion about the massage and ventilated seats here in the various forums. The massage is NOT intended to be a deep tissue massage, which would probably cause an accident anyway. It's designed to prevent "sore long-term sitting butt" from being stationary. I love it, and will definitely be a must-have in my next BMW.

I agree. I use the massage on any trip longer than 2 hours. In fact it turns itself off after an hour so I am trying to code that off. I love switching it between lumbar and hip activation.

The ventilation works, but I agree it needs to be a tad stronger. Looking to see if that can be coded also.

Agree with the weak seat vents. I also believe the DHP makes a huge difference in terms of low speed maneuvers.

Is the Anthracite Alcantara headliner the only option with the sports version? Are there other options available in dark colors without the suede look?

If you go with the M-Package, it will be Alcantara.

However, you can get a different color, matching the leather if you go with the full leather option.

Yes. And it’s amazing. The navy/ivory Individual interior also has alcantara headliner in navy.

MY2020 X7's will have an option to get alcantara headliners in different colors, not just black or the individual deep blue. Very curious how these are going to turn out.

Welcome to August... we should start seeing MY2020 stuff now on the BMWUSA website, and BMW news.

Do we have a non-suede option?

Just the standard cloth. Do you not like alcantara? It’s a must have for me.

My wife doesn’t like the fingerprints it leaves.

Suede is better, trust me. It gives the interior a much better feel, IMO.

Regarding fingerprint, maybe try not to touch them lol? You can actually use vacuum cleaner and a soft brush to clean the headliner.

We’ve had nothing but alcantara headliners for probably ten years, in probably a dozen cars, and I’m not sure anyone has ever touched it to leave a fingerprint. Of course, to each her own, but I’d try talking her out of that one.

Now, if you're getting footprints on your headliner, you might get a trophy.

I have the luxury seats in my X5. You can feel them, but not as strong as in other cars. However, they are loud at the highest setting. Sounds like the motor is right behind your head. Turn them down one and you can’t hear them at all.

I really like the fact that they blow OUT - I feel this will help keep the leather clean - I have ivory vernasca leather. It comes on automatically connected to my driver profile.

I love the massage. I use it mostly on back massage. It is soft but I like it.

I wish massage could be programmed to come on automatically with the driver profile. It turns off after a while and you have to turn it back on again.

The ride is uber smooth with the 22's. With that I will say I didn't drive one with smaller wheels. You can feel bumps when the pavement has sharp transitions, but its impressive the amount of isolation. In sport mode I've been hustling it through some turns at impressive speeds for such a large vehicle.

I agree on the chrome, it's a little bright. I plan to wrap mine in black or charcoal color to compliment the artic gray. Not sure why they chose to have matte finished trim on window surrounds and luggage rack bars, but chrome on bottom. They should have made it all match.
I agree with regards to ride. I have 22's and I've never experienced a more buttery in an SUV while not feeling like it doesn't handle well. To anyone who experiences a firmer ride I would ask that you turn your attention to the tire pressure. Cars ship from the factory with higher pressures and if the dealership doesn't decrease them then it feels more like driving an X5.

I feel like it's too boaty sometimes. I try to put it in eco mode. (I like the blue too ). Which helps a little. I have 21s and you can barely feel anything.
