Where did you get the bags? Are they BMW bags or another 3rd party manufacturer?

If you are referring to the cargo organizers, I got them from Amazon. I posted the links in post #8.

If you are grocery-shopping and buy a bit more than usual, you will need each and everyone of them.

Here are some additional pictures of my Amazon Fire Stick integration. I didn't just want to stick it in there and risk braking it off one day so after ordering some different adapters, cables and Velcro, I think I got it now.

The integration into the system is just flawless. As you can see, it gives you access to tons of media - even on the front screen. I now have Amazon Music (which I could not get because I have an Android phone - that would have to wait until we finally get Android Auto later this year) and direct access to my home-server through Plex - just to name a few. Of course, there is Sling-TV, Amazon Video, various sports-Apps and everything else you can get on a Fire-Stick.

The remote is located below the armrest, right above my Alexa.

Honestly, the RES-system is already worth getting just because of the HDMI-input - no matter if there is somebody sitting in the second row or not.

Thanks 760, this is very helpful. Could you pm me or post here the components you used? I am picking up my car next week and would like to do the same. I plan to use the fire stick with the AT&T WiFi hotspot primarily to watch movies in the back. Does the front screen also connect to the fire stick and works while driving or do you need to code for that?

While driving, the front screen will only show a message that the vehicle needs to be in Park to show contents. I tested it and it won't even show content while you are fully stopped. You certainly need coding to fix that. For me, it's not a big deal because when driving, my main focus of this integration was on being able to stream certain music-sources.

Here are the components I used:

HDMI-connection between vehicle and stick:

https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

12V power-adapter for USB between port and stick:

https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Cable connecting 12V power-adapter to stick:

https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

And the Velcro:

https://smile.amazon.com/VELCRO-Bran...582313405&th=1

This is exactly what I'm using now. The only thing that MIGHT be improved is that i will perhaps replace the USB-connection with this one sine it has 90 degree angles on both end:

https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/...KUHU6B27&psc=1

Well, you can certainly connect an iPad to the vehicle's hot-spot.

I don't know if your vehicle has the RES and if there is a way to connect an iPad to the HDMI-port in case you do. Unfortunately, I'm not an Apple-guy and use any of their products so I don't know much about that.

Another thing that would probably be missing is the remote functionality offered on Fire Sticks and Rokus. May not make a huge difference if you are trying to control the iPad while sitting in the second row but trying to control them from the front might be problematic.

As long as the vehicle is in 'Park', you certainly can.

I have thousands of recordings on my Synology home-server and can stream them to the vehicle without any problem.

The two images I posted showing picture-folders with dates (2011-...) and folders with Artists (N' Sync, 2 Unlimited etc.) are from the Plex-App.

Gentleman and scholar! Looks good! I was poking around my folks X7 while waiting on mine. I was trying to see a way to hide the HDMI completely. Still fiddling with it.

760, I just did the same install on my car and it’s working perfectly. Love the Velcro set up for the remote control! The only difference is that I have captain’s chairs so the the wire to power can still be seen but overall very nice setup. I tried youtubeTV with my phone’s WiFi and it was fine, haven’t tried it with the BMW data plan yet. Now I just need to pick up wireless headphones to be able to watch different things in the back. Has anyone found good non-BMW wireless headphones that work or a good place to buy BMW headphones cheaper than at the dealer?

I did the install and the little ones are watching away. Same as 760 except mine worked with the mini USB to USB C, short cable. Super clean. I have captains chairs so the remote is in the cup holder and the headsets in the pocket door. I did the unlimited data plan for $20 a month it ends today though so jump on it if you want it.

Call BMW and get your cars phone number use this number

*(888) 333-6118‬

Then you can either go through your app and register the WiFi here:

https://myvehicle.att.com/#/bmw/learn?country=US&language=en

Just go to free trial

Or call them

*(866) 595-1222‬

If you get the unlimited it won’t kick in until the free stuff is used up. Hope that helps.
