Supply of 17" ASA JH3 wheels for E90/E92 getting low.

Just a heads up. We just ran out in Nevada and Indiana, the last warehouse we have them in stock is Delaware. If you were planning on buying a 17" winter setup, this is a popular wheel choice since BMW logos are available to fit and the style isn't too bad. To get BMW logos included with the order at no charge, refer to 'gary/E90post-add caps' as your previous contact at the end of the order.

We'll should still carry them. Just will be sold out for this winter season in this particular size. Since they come from Korea it will be Spring or later before we get more in.

In the unlikely event you sell out of the JH3s are there any other rims that you know work with a 335i e90 (or 330) with the sport package?

I got my JH3 wheels on today with the Dunlop M3s....WOW, this car is a friggen snow mobile, I took it around the back lot of BMW dealership that is 100% solid ice (compact snow, plus +5C last night, plus -3C today!!) and I pushed the 300lb/ft into those rear tires and they stuck, also very hard to get ABS to come on, only got it to go on once. DSC still comes on when I power through a 90deg turn but I am fricken amazed at the difference from my civic with snows on it. Runflats really do improve snow/ice traction. Also the ride is a lot smoother than the standard 18" summer bridgestones.

PS the JH3s look amazing on the car, I'll go get a few pics and post them, almost as good as the 18s and amazing for a winter combo, way nicer than the overpriced wheels BMW sells for winter!!

Good to hear, arbitrage. Pics would be nice. I think I'll be swapping my tires next week... or maybe the week after. It doesn't snow that much here so I may wait a while.

What tire pressure are you running on them? Gary, what's the recommended tire pressure? I have a 330i ZSP and will be switching from the 18" staggered setup to the JH3 and Dunlop M3 DSSTs. The E90 owner's manual says 33F/41R (less than 100mph) or 38F/45R (over 100mph) for the 225/45 R17 all seasons. Since the snows are the same size, would it make sense to follow the same recommended pressure?

Not exactly sure but a german car magaine did a huge test on winter tires (its somewhere on this forum I think (or maybe at bimmerfest?)) and they used a 1series BMW with runflats and non runflats in the same brand. All the runflats did better than all the non-runflats for snow traction. It was a very comprehensive test, something to do with the stiffer sidewalls. However, they did not test Q-rated snow tires like Bridgestone REVOs that have a better compound and are still probably better than the higher speed rated tires that we all use on our BMWs.

I'm happy with 36F/37R or 36F/38R right now on that setup, slightly more front pressure than stated to reduce understeer a tad. Door says 32F/36R for <100 with 330xi and "light" loading. Not sure where you see the 33/41, I'll have to check my manual again.

gos, for the 330xi with sports package, the manual gives you three choices for the 17" all around all season tires (on p.193) - under 100mph (32F/36R), 100+ light load (32F/35R), and 100+ heavy load (35F/41R).

Actually, make that six combinations for the 330xi with sport package. It splits out the H-rated all seasons from the V-rated all season XLs and has different suggested PSI for the latter. Interestingly, for the non-sport package, there's no difference for the different M+S tires.

For the 330i, tire pressure is on p.192 of the owner's manual, and it's slightly less complicated than the 330xi. Either 33F/41R or 38F/45R for the 17" all seasons, which I assume should be the way to roll with the 17" snows?

Keep in mind that this is not an unlikely event, we will run out as we are down to just 2-3 *sets* left already as of this morning. We have a limited # of other wheels that will clear, but those are getting low in stock too. See them here when you build your own 17" winter package :

The next alternative wheel that fits does not accept a BMW logo, the Sport Edition E2.

Also note that we still have a 40mm offset version of the wheel that will fit on the 328/325 models. This version will not clear E90 330i brakes or 335i brakes.

So either 33F/41R or 38F/45R for the 17" Dunlop mM3 DSSTs. Just out of curiosity why the tire pressure reccomendation is so high? Guess I'm just use to the 32F/36R on the bridgestoness. Is the higher tire pressure to make less of the tire actaully touching the ground?
