Delivered Today, issue adaptive light controls

Love the new X7 40i. Still learning. I am not sure but is their a setting for the adaptive light control. They do not follow road as my 540i did. Am I missing a setting. The auto button is lit up. At this early point only other issue is climate control rules for passenger seat? Hope to code. Wish adaptive lights worked.

Noticed some movement high beam, not alot, very minimal. Nothing like on my 540i. Is this unusual? Is it better in low beam?

I dont think there is a setting for adaptive control. When I swerve back and forth quickly I can see the lights move back and forth a decent amount. Not sure how to quantify. Auto button is only to lower high beams when approaching cars.

Are you testing it while parked?

The light will turn depending on vehicle speed as well as steering input.

I see them move a little, nothing like my 540i. Which is why I am asking for any feedback.

Which headlights do you have ? I can see plenty of movement with the BMW Laser headlights on 2021 M50i. It's also not just a movement, but there are dedicated cornering lights that come on on tighter turns, like roundabouts.

If you see a little movement, you're likely okay, the X7 light is going to cast a wider net with the low beams using both lamps, so less movement is required.

If it's less noticeable when you're on the road, that might be a result of not having cornering lights. Paultattoo will take any complaints you may have there.

I have the 22SA, x40i, with standard package. I did not show any deletions in build codes? It should have adaptive full led lights?

Adaptive full LEDs, yes. Cornering lights, no:

Interesting, because I thought Full Adaptive lights are still illegal in the US. On my '22 40i, I sure do see them moving when cornering too.

Wait, maybe my definition of a cornering light is not the same as I thought then.

So I guess I don't have the actual cornering light and the adaptive light control is the small movement I notice when turning. But still, the "Full Adaptive Lights" are not active on US models, correct?

Pg 187
Adaptive Light Control
General information
Depending on the steering angle and other parameters,
the light from the headlight follows the
course of the road.
To avoid blinding oncoming traffic, the Adaptive
Light Control does not swivel to the opposite
lane when the vehicle is at a standstill.

Cornering light
Principle
In tight curves, for instance on mountainous
roads or when turning, an additional, cornering
light is switched on that lights up the inside of
the curve when the vehicle is moving below a
certain speed.

Maybe... the adaptive light control is quite subtle, it's great for a slight bend in a road as they really are following the road, but it's not an obvious affect unless you compared it directly to a car that didn't have them. Cornering lights only come on with tight corners or blinkers at slow speeds. It is a separate light that comes on pretty abruptly, so more of a "wham look at that" as you're turning a corner. F chassis cars were using the fog lights for this, now they integrated them into the headlights since fog lights are no longer needed/useful.

You are correct that the anti-dazzle feature of the high beams are disabled in the US and we just get the auto on/off high beams. This too is a more noticeable feature, and will let the light beams separate around cars. You could code this back on.

They move, they just don't move independently. I believe the "full" is just to distinguish them from the normal lights lights on other models which are self-leveling (up/down movement movement only, no left/right).

The part (the anti-dazzle decoding) disabled in the US is the special high-beam function that lets the lights move and turn on/off independently when the high beams are on... This is a high-beam only feature and doesn't happen for low beams in any market.

They move a bit but not like 540i, maybe because they are higher up(?). Anyway I know one thing, BMW Flagship SAV has sunk. I just tried to download music but no HDD or memory for this.l, oh boy.

Weird, I placed an order for a M50i a few weeks ago and on my build sheet is shows:

5AP Decoding for no-dazzle high-beam assistance

So on the new ones it's not disabled anymore?

I have a 2019 540i and a 2022 X7 M50i. The headlight movements of both vehicles seem almost identical to me. The cornering lights that come on at slow speed also seem very similar.

I do not have cornering lights? Or have not seen them come on. This is weird, but is it that the 49i does not have cornering lights. Who would I contact, service or genius?

Ahhh, it actually states DECODING, which translates to REMOVE THE CODING. So, no, it's still not available in US market. Sorry.
