xb7 impressed..

buddy of mine dumped his Range Rover (2019) plastic panels falling apart , constant electrical issues similar to my 19 SVR that was lighting up like a Xmas tree.

anyhow he ended up picking up a xb7 that was blacked out including the wheels.

a day after he picked it up we took it down to VIR for a 4hr trip. (xb7 did not go on track)

a few noticable difference with a x7/x5 m50i

no eco mode
comfort plus is very plush especially on just paved hwy
no active sound setting
didn't see an auto stop/start button
no paddles just round buttons that almost feel like it's from a GM would of preferred actual paddles you pull instead of a button you gotta find and press with your fingers
alpina trim, door sills, logos are very nice as well as the wood
shift knob and start button glow blue vs orange
very nice exhaust note although it's only broken in less than 1k
alpina dash (which I'm sure most of seem) with the greem and fat font
brakes are outstanding prob because of the 23 wheels and tires

gobs of trq and go, also the handling is very very good as it it could out handle my SVR on some high sweeping hwy exits

overall very very impressed I got to drive it for 2:30hrs .

will post pics eventually

The auto stop and start button being gone is great news!

If it is gone, I am assuming the Alpina doesn't have this function.

The 2021 X7's cannot be permenantly turned off and has to be turned off manually upon start up everytime. Getting rid of a function I can't program or use is a good sign for me!

You can see in this still photo from the above video that the start stop button and the Eco button are both gone in the XB7. I assume that the start stop function was removed for this model but I don't know for sure.

It may have the 48v hybrid system in it and therefore the A/S and eco mode are no longer offered. I believe that's what I read for the new 2021 X7 40i models. The M50i model doesn't have the hybrid, so it'll be interesting if we can confirm the XB7 has it.

To be clear, just because the AS/S off button has been removed, doesn't mean that AS/S itself has been removed. Just that you can't manually turn it off with a button.

I'll be able to verify once I receive my Xb7.

weird I cant see them either but I think I saw this car advertised. Given that they blacked out all the chrome, do you know if they opted for paint or vinyl? we will be doing the same on our alpine blue.

thanks

???

Pics are normally uploaded to the Bimmerpost server. Shouldn't have to log into any other servers. He needs to repost and upload those pics so all can see them.

Interesting, IMO the luxury front blacked out looks better looking than the M50i front with extended shadowline. The air intakes on the M50i remind of the Predator.

Just messing with you M50i owners.

But those XB7 mods are sweet.

That’s the look I was after as I am a predator. Everyone gets out of my way.

Same here ... people move out of the way on the highway

I'm not a big fan of the XB7 look, but I like the blacked-out look. Nice.
