So new owner of a beautiful black X7 M50i.
I have 11” I pad pros coming for the kids. Will the brackets hold this size? I half tempted on ordering to check but maybe the info is here? |

It's holding the 10" FireHD perfectly with a lot of room to spare. And this is a heavy tablet

Using a case is totally your choice as it's not required and it works with any case

I have the same generic holder and it holds thin cases well. The bulkier rubber kids cases are a bit too thick to stay in there securely but honestly after having it for 10 months my kids rarely use it and just hold the iPads.
I believe there are device specific plastic inserts you are supposed to buy to insert in this generic holder but that seemed overkill for our use and the several different sized tablets we have. |

I've done this and it sits fine. The generic case adjusts up and down and has a spring clip to keep it tight. The middle pic above I showed is mine and doesn't have a case but has the apple keyboard attached which is pretty thin.

Yup, works without a case and it's great you can use the holder for movies and remove it for games etc. Best of all worlds and also looks good. We have the factory system that has never been used ever since my daughter just brings her iPad!

Cheapest reputable place I’ve found with free shipping is My Bimmer Parts. No affiliation just a happy customer.
They have free shipping for any orders over $99. https://www.mybimmerparts.com/oem-pa...79-51952408224 Last edited by Jakerx; 03-20-2021 at 09:56 AM.. Reason: Wrong link pasted |

without saftey case ipad slips out
the issue i have is even with non bmw silicon protectors on ipads they slide in cradle (bouncing of window on alpine hairpins isnt great) and the BMW safety cases are really limited in size - its a greedy design requiring 3 elements to work 100% instead of the 1 piece it could have been.
