Night vision optioned on a certified pre-owned or used X7 including X5/6 is going to be very rare and you're going have to search nationwide.

I'd wait until next production cycle updates which usually takes place around April 2021. Supply channel improve by then though the take rate on night vision is still very low in the USA compared to EU.

I recall a post by an X7 owner who optioned night vision and he wasn't impressed. I think he said if he could do it over he would pass on it. I've never seen it in action so I have no direct knowledge of this option but I noticed it's not even available on the very limited production 2021 Alpina XB7 so it's probably not coming back.

I've heard stories from both sides on night vision. There are some people that absolutely love it too. I've never had it but wanted every option and it sounds pretty cool to me. Just got my custom order in today for 2020. Fully loaded 40i...$105.5k MSRP. Also can't wait for the Full Merino, B&W, everything. Sad this wasn't a 2021 but still should last me a good plenty years.

My friend echoed the same sentiment. Wasn't worth the upgrade.

Do we know if night vision is available in Europe for 2021?

I must be the only one ok with the the iPads mounted in the holders. I like the flexibility of apps. We don't have cable so we subscribe to streaming services, and we can have all of them on the devices.

Totally with you on that one. And with the travel comfort system still looks neat and integrated.

Doesn't the RES allow a firestick or the similar to be plugged in to give you apps?

That was exactly what I was doing waiting for Feb 2021!! I was on here looking at the vehicle as a potential next vehicle since it came out. I thought Wild Blue would beat me to it since he's been waiting a long time as well

The loss of all these items forced me to pull the trigger earlier than expected. It was super hard to even find a 2020 M50i allocation to modify. I came across 40i allocations while searching but those seem to also be running out. I eventually found one a few states away in the end and now have an all optioned M50i locked in at 112 status. I would say it's getting to slim pickings now if you're looking for a 2020 M50i so don't hesitate if you can't live with the present 2021 available options. Hopefully in your area you have an easier time finding an existing allocation to modify since there seems to be no new 2020 allocations coming out anymore.

Best of luck in your search brother! My search wasn't fun at all

It does.

Live TV (sling), streaming from home server, amazon prime video, youtube - you name it.

Do you have older passengers? With little kids iPads are almost worthless because you can't control them from up front. If my youngest was 8 I'd be great with iPads.

Actually, you can control iOS devices remotely from other iOS devices using a built in functionality called Switch Control. Although, from what I have read about this functionality, it does not seem nearly as refined as the control you have with the RSE system. But it is still a control option for non-RSE users...

Well, I've decided I'd rather have a 2020 w rear-seat entertainment over a 2021 w Tartufo + 2nd row bench.

Lol welcome to the club. Let the search begin! Best of luck in finding an allocation.

I'm always torn on the bench. I understand that it is useful/practical but to be honest I have a 7 seater SUV now and NO ONE likes to sit in the center of the bench for long drives across country. In the end I went with the captains chairs instead for my M50i. Also, in my 15 years of owning 7 seater SUVs it's very rare (if ever) I have that many people on a long trip in one vehicle...I would just break out a second vehicle and have the family in two vehicles at that point so everyone is comfortable plus I would have more space for luggage with two vehicles...this is the same choice I make for short trips if that many family members are around. So in the end on paper it seems practical in real life I'm not so sure.

If I were hauling that many bodies all the time I would get something truly large but 6 is the most I see.

Keep in mind that the Captains Chairs do not fold down flat like the bench does, thus minimizing the amount of cargo space you may need. In fact, they don't fold down at all IIRC - they just move back enough so people can get in/out from the 3rd row. Some people have opted for the Captains Chairs not realizing this since most SUV's with Captains Chairs, like my previous Ford Expedition SUV with Captains Chairs, do fold down fully flat.

Good point!! But for me I have a trailer to carry anything that gets that big to carry. Hence why I got the tow hitch option. There are different work arounds clearly for the same situation. Everyone would have to make a decision based on their situation and needs.

The main reason why I skipped them. I also don't like the plastic that comes on the rear of the chairs and the one on the center console.

If I didn't have wild footed kids sitting in car seats I would prefer no plastic.... but for now, plastic is great because it can always be wiped off. Try as I might... I haven't been able to calm the kids 🦶 🦶 down.

My 7, 5 and 2 year old all use their iPads, just make a sure they have a decent case for when the inevitably drop them when they dose off. I'm not sure what the big deal is about wanting front seat control, but you can use Screen Time if you want to limit their access to apps and content. Disney+, Netflix, Nick Jr. and Youtube Kids are all easy enough for them to self navigate and find things to watch.

The big deal is that my kids when they freehand their iPads in the back of a moving car lol.
