I hate to be Debbie Downer but it appears as though the rear sunshades will now be manual in 2021 vs power in 2020. WTH

I hear you about the shades. Hopefully it's only a mistake. The same thing happened when the MY20 order guide came out last year. It said manual side shades. It was a mistake. They later fixed it and every 2020 X7 came with power shades from day one.

Yes they are making dumb decisions in my opinion. I was set on getting a 2021 later this year. But after I saw all these changes and options deletion, I went ahead and secured an allocation for a 2020 build before it's too late. Hopefully will get my X7 by August.

Same here. I bet they'll hurry to get the special orders done pretty quick because they'll start making 21s in August so they don't have a lot of time to make ours!

Yes. Hopefully ours will make it through before they switch over to MY21. I am finalizing my deal on Monday but my SA has already secured my order in the system and gave me the production number. He wanted to get it in as soon as possible to lock it in for production before it's too late. Hoping to sign the purchase order and give him the deposit on Monday

I tried to get an allocation/production to modify but there aren't any to get in the midwest

Anyone know of a place with production spots etc. still?

I know one or 2 dealers in the DC/Baltimore area that might have a few allocations. If you are interested PM me and I give you the info.

I'm going with an ammendable production to avoid the 2021 at all costs. We just sold my wife's car and have to get into another vehicle in the next month or so, but even if we weren't in a rush, I wouldn't get a 2021 based on what I'm hearing.

I'm located in Nebraska. My dealer had to call 7 other dealerships before one would trade them a 2020 X7 allocation and supposedly had to trade an X3 and an X5 allocation to get an X7. Regardless, it's all done and scheduled for production with ALL the features offered in 2020. Now the wait. I really think these will move faster than normal secondary to the factory wanting to tool up for 2021s.

Tell me about it!! My local dealers and dealers 1-2hrs away couldn't get an allocation. When I beat the streets and found an M50i allocation a couple states over the dealer wouldn't trade with anyone locally. He called it a "hot commodity". So he and I worked out a great deal and I am picking it up from them directly. Same as you I got every option they had. Now the wait begins. Let's hope this ends well for both of us brother

Special thanks to Skyrider who gave me a great contact who also tried his best to find one.

Thanks ComingInHot. Happy to help. If anyone else needs a good dealer contact, I have 2 great SAs in the DC/Baltimore area that will go out of their way to take care of you and get you a good deal.

If you can find an allocation to switch to your build prior to it being locked into production then you sure can.....hard part is finding an allocation to switch. Call around, talk with dealers etc. to see what you can find available. I'll warn you that it's difficult to find 50i or M50i allocations in the North East since I see you're in NY. Good luck

Any idea when we might be able to start building 2021's on the website?

I want to talk to my dealer about ordering as soon as he gets his first allocation but the website is still building 2020's, which it is my understanding are no longer available.

There's no notification or scheduled date when the BMWUSA online build gets updated. Most of the time it doesn't get updated until the year model has already been in production for a month or two.
