Got 07/2020.54 OTA today. Coming from 07/2020.48 on 5/2019 x7. Release notes don't say what changed.

On my way home from work I saw there a notification. Thought it was a suggested navigation route but when I checked it was a software update. Finally the remote update is "working."

My version was updated at the dealer a couple of months ago to .48 and the OTA is also showing version.54.

Said to go online to see what changed.

Build date: 4/2019

I also just got the .54 update via OTA. The release notes don't say anything specific. Just basic "general bug fixes and enhancements" verbiage essentially.

Just updated to 07/2020.54 from .25. Spent over two hours to do the update.

Nothing seems to have changed (at least visually checking the iDrive!

Lot of excitement when upgrading the software but.......seeing no change is;
So boring!!!!

I also got the notification to update but can I choose not to install this? I am a little concerned after reading about OTA update issues and please correct me if I am wrong but I would need to re code again using BimmerCode etc after a new software update? Thanks

Has anyone gotten the 07/2020.54 that wasn't on an earlier version of 07/2020.xx? Anyone on 03/2020.xx or 11/2019.xx get the 07/2020.54 update ota?

Yes, you can download the update to the car or phone and then update the car at a later date if you wish. That is what I did. I actually downloaded the update to my phone first. Then it automatically uploaded to my car. A few days later I did the update - iDrive will keep bugging you to do it.

As far as coding goes, yes, you will have to re-code most or all of your coding depending on what you coded prior to the update.

I bought my X7 in June 2020 and have the 3/2020.xx software. I have a Samsung Galaxy and have been waiting... and waiting... for the 07/2020 update. My dealership in Atlanta is AWFUL and told me they didn't know anything about an update, wouldn't do it for free, and that I wasn't eligible for an update because I don't have Live Cockpit Professional, so a trifecta of ignorant, greedy and outright lies. And that, gentlemen, was the Service Manager.

Nope. I bought my X7 in July 2019. It currently has 03/2020.58

I have never received an ota update. I asked the dealer about upgrading the software for Android auto compatibility and they told me that the genius said mine doesn't have hardware for android auto compatibility. ???

Have an August 2020 FY2021 build. Delivered with 07/2020.32. Just upgraded to 07/2020.54 last night. Did upgrade via ConnectedDrive App via iPhone.

Will have to see if my BimmerCode settings were wiped out. Noticed that the iDrive flipped back to the BMW logo vs. the coded M logo. Need to check the rest later today.

I had my car at the dealer yesterday. Winter tires and 20,000 service. I asked him to make sure I was on the latest software. Looked after I get the car back... Still on the 7:3030:58

Any noticeable difference with the update? I am also going from .32.

My X7 40i is a May 2019 build with idrive 03/2020.58. I have received no OTA updates. Quite frankly I am surprised that later build models are receiving their OTA updates before the earlier models. Has BMW forgotten about us?

From what I have seen, it doesn't seem to relate to build date.

It seems only folks already on an earlier version of 07/2020.xx is getting the latest 07/2020.58 via OTA. Those of us on pre 07/2020.xx versions don't seem to have gotten the OTA.

Mine is a April 2020 build, still on 03/2020.35. Genius line says I'm supposed to receive the OTA in the first two weeks of November. We're heading into the 4th week and still no OTA.

Just updated with no issues. Drive mode (Sports Individual) that I programmed with Bimmercode still remained but video in motion and Alpina display all went back to pre coding.
