Ordered a 2021 ALPINA XB7

I ordered an XB7 - ALPINA Blue with the 21" wheels. The exterior will look the same as scottg61376's XB7 (sorry man, I had to have one the moment I saw yours.) My SA added it to order bank yesterday and then emailed it to his rep who places the order into the manufacturing system where it all comes down to allocation and build schedules.

Congrats to you as well. I'm waiting for a production number (ordered yesterday). Did you get a production number yet?

Interesting that the car in pictogram seems to have the 22" style 757 non-sport package wheels, not any of the Alpina wheel choices.

Heard back from my SA today. His rep told him February allocations for ALPINA builds are closed. He said March allocations will be released in a day or two. I should have a production date and VIN soon.

I'm officially in the BMW order system and have a production number. I have plenty of time to make changes to my order so I have a question someone may be help me with:

Has anyone checked the distance between the front seats (all the way back) and the second row bench vs captains chairs all the way back? I have a bench seat now and when it's all the way back there is a lot of leg room. I ordered the captains chairs and don't want to be surprised to find there is several inches less leg room.

I had this same exact question when I was ordering my XB7. I got to sit in a X7 5.0 with captain chairs and one with bench. I don't know how tall you are but I am 6' tall. With my drivers seat in my general driving position and the captain chairs all the way back, my knees were touching the drivers seat lower back. The bench with it all the way back, my knees were free and clear at least 2 inches from hitting the drivers seat back.

I also went into thinking that it would be an easy pass through through the middle of the captain chairs to the 3rd row but there is no way an average teen or adult pass through the middle like how you can in the Escalade. It is still more of a climb over.

Lastly, the captains chairs cant be folded flat for large cargo duties. They only push forward. This solidified my choice for the bench.

This is exactly the input I'm seeking. Thanks.

You're welcome! I can't wait to hear your thoughts on the XB7 after some time behind it!

Good decision.

I skipped the captain's chairs for the limited cargo as well. In addition, I could not stand all the hard plastic (seat back, center console) which is simply no match to the high class full leather interior.

Thanks Wild Blue

We got a March allocation but no build date yet. Do you have a build date?

Yes, but it seems to have changed a couple times. I started with a week 5 build, then got officially delayed to week 9. Now it seems to have moved up to week 6 or 7, since I've received a 24 Feb PCD date, and PCD supposedly takes place 2 weeks after production.

Today marks the start of week 5. My production moved to dot 3 last week, and got the VIN.
