Just to give you guys an update. They did replace the leather on the seat and completely detail the car for free. It looks great now and even though it took my time and was a bit scary. I am grateful they made it right.

I was shocked they let the car go like this. Apparently they thought I was going to pick up the car, because they were still waiting on parts. And so they took off the plastic. Whomever drove it didn't put it back on. Who knows.

Glad its over and the car looks great. Thanks for all of your help on here, gave me courage to not back down!

Plausible but whoever was sitting in your car must have been in a motor oil wrestling contest for 3 rounds right before getting in.

Glad to hear dealer made it right. Hopefully they teach their staff/techs to use protection before going in... Probably the best words of wisdom I got from my father when I was a teen.

FYI: I have used these disposable plastic seat covers for years. I put them on when I take my vehicles in for service. My BMW dealership does this as well but when anyone sees I have these on my car, they know I expect zero damage. Trust me it sends a message. I even converted my Ram/Jeep dealership into using them since they saw I was using them and thought it was a great idea.

I also use them when washing my cars when I’m really grungy and have to move the cars around. They are thin but do the job. I even use them in my truck after field dressing deer, etc..

Nice to keep a few in the back just in case of emergencies. They fit the second row captains chairs if you decide to get your toddler a hot fudge sundae on a road trip.

It's amazing how our lives have changed from covid. Before covid if I saw that seat covering I would never get in the car. Reminds me of pulp fiction or goodfellas. I'm expecting someone is about to splash some brain matter.
Now I just ordered myself a box.

Perhaps that’s why service dept staff is so careful with my vehicles. The shovel and blue plastic tarp in the back may have been more of a factor than my plastic seat covers??
