X7 hitch cover?

I just got a new 2021 X7. I usually do a custom order but it had everything I wanted plus I needed it before the end of the year for business expense which worked alright.

It did come with a tow hitch installed which I feel spoils the clean rear bumper look. If I had a custom order I would get the stealth hitch.

Is there a cover that can be used to cover the hitch when not in use? I googled and looked but couldn't find anything?

I have not seen a cover for the hitch.

I take it you mean a panel to cover the entire visible hitch assembly. BMW does make something like this for some X5's:
https://www.shopbmwusa.com/product/5...ER-HITCH-COVER

But not the X7, and I'm not aware of any aftermarket company that does. Small consolation, but these are readibly available from both BMW, and tons of aftermarket companies:
https://www.shopbmwusa.com/product/8...TOW-HITCH-PLUG

Congrats on the rig!

I think he's referring to the entire hitch area and not just the square. My old Lincoln Navigator had one that would cover the entire area for a cleaner look but I've never seen one for the X5/X7.

Yeah, despite the picture there, the description in that first link describes a panel covering the entire hitch assembly. Only for some X5's though. Nothing for the X7.

If you input part number in get bmw parts it shows that is the plug only. So not sure which is right

I looked into this when I first got the x7 and I don't believe there is any options on this. The euro models don't have the cut out and use a different hitch but US models don't have a choice.

I think they meant something like this used on other cars. I too have the tow package and was looking for something - nothing yet.

I am positive a body shop could easily make one using a hitch plate adapter. Wouldn’t be hard at all. It’s so low under the bumper I don’t even notice mine at all.
