I received a Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM) malfunction failure message yesterday. Has anyone received this before and know what might be the cause?

Thanks

The error is no longer displaying today. I will monitor it.

I had the exact same issue today. Happened during regular driving.

Once home, I performed a reset and drove around the block, and was able to clear the error. My tire pressure is 41~44 PSI all around.

Looks to me like a software bug. will continue monitoring.

Due to low temperature outside, got same thing for couple of days.
Put 36-37 PSI to front, 41-42 in the back, reset monitor, drive it around, and for 4 days already there is no message anymore.

When i put my snow tires on it messed up my system. It is very frustrating. I show the warning low pressure signal 24x7 even though they are correct. It shows them right around 10 psi less than they are. And although the right tires show up on the monitor, they have the wrong specs.

My wifes MY21 X7 M50i has started displaying this 2-3 different times this week and we are in S.E. Texas and it has been in the 50-60F.

Taking the car in as it doesn't even have 500miles on it and not cool getting these errors when tires read fine.

Took the car in and dealer ended up replacing the TPMS in left front wheel. Issue resolved.

The hardest part is to convince dealer the warning is not because I had low tire pressure and they can’t resolve it by simply resetting TPMS.

These are relatively cheap to replace. More than one visit is too many to swap in a new TPMS.

I got TPM malfunction error couple of days ago driving in sub 20 temperature. I reset the tpm after a 20min rest area stop and it took about 10mins to reset and error went away
Again the error came back today and temperature is under 20.

I am running my winter set.

Any idea on how to handle it if I am to take it with dealer?

If this is to do with my sensors on winter set, is there a way I can check which sensor is bad?

Will bimmerlink help in debugging?

I worked with my service advisor on this and dealership replaced a sensor on one of the wheels. So far no complaints.
