Roof Rack Weight Limits

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Looking to get a roof carrier for my 2025 X7. Does anyone know the maximum weight allowed to be carried? I was wondering if was fairly low due to the mostly glass roof. I couldn't find anything in the manual regarding this. Thanks in advance!

doesnt really have to do with the glass roof, the rails are mounted to the substructure of the roof. its 75kg or about 165lbs for the BMW crossbars.

Thank you. My Ford Explorer has a panoramic roof and the weight limit was extremely low at 50-60 pounds max so that is why I was concerned. Appreciate the input.

Probably an issue if you’re using a bag type that sits on the roof itself vs mounted to the bars and not resting on roof/glass. I wouldn’t put any weight on the glass.
