Im going through the same debate.
I have a 2018 G63 which I have loved BUT it's time to move into a more comfortable ride. My G has been pretty problem free. 2 friends had the last generation of the B7 and both loved them (but they have both loved their S63's as well) I have had a 335 ix and a M3 which were both great and problem free. I need a SUV as I tend to fill my vehicle with loads of boxes for work or when going to Sam's club. The G63 is a little smaller than ideal and I think Id have more than enough space with the 3rd row folded in either of these. I am debating a XB7 and a GLS63. I love the XB7 on the 23's but being in Michigan due to potholes and snow they are totally impractical. I think the quality of materials in the XB7 are a little higher quality. The ambient lighting on the Sunroof is very cool. I like the GLS63, it's not as exclusive as the Alpina. I think the MB is a little more "plush" inside, the seats are just more comfortable. Service wise I think BMW was a little more laid back and friendly but both were fine with the experiences I have had. Resale wise Id guess they both fare about the same, perhaps the Alpina may be a little strong due to being even rarer than a AMG I don't think there really is a wrong answer here from what I see the ride quality and handling are both very similar. Ive watched a ton of the YouTubers and it seems to be a pretty even split so I just can't decide. OK one thing the MB has which I think is pretty cool are the Magic Vision wipers! But I don't think wipers are enough to sway me one way or another LOL |

Checked out the XB7 today and WOW!
While I can't find a GLS63 to test drive I did drive a GLS580 with the E Active Body Control and the Alpina has a much smoother ride and felt less floaty around corners. I wonder when orders start for the 2024 and if they may have Alpina Green available again? |

Well just my luck, they called and sold the Alpina despite telling me they'd give me the night to think it over. They said I could get a deal on a M60 or I could order a 24 Alpina through them as soon as orders open.

I would politely tell that dealer to piss off and order from another dealer. Why would you trust or do business with a dealer that tells you they will hold a vehicle for you until the next day and then sell it to someone else right after giving you the offer to decide until the next day.

Kinda shitty move by the dealer but considering the new features coming to the XB7 in the 2024 model maybe a blessing in disguise? The order books for XB7 2024 are open but expected to fill up for the entire year in 2-3 weeks according to BMW5and7 who has provided solid info about the changes.
