Does anyone know if bimmercode plans on adding a “default drive mode” option?

Here is what I got from Stephan when I contacted him:

Hi,
the iOS update will be available soon.

I had some family travel and then was dealing with a sick two year old. That delayed my response. Most everything works in HU_MGU. There are a couple of settings like warning chime and some of the start-up emblems that I cant get to work with either ESYS or BimmerCode.

OK. First of all, the good news is that the iOS version of the BImmerCode is now updated with version 3.2 in the App Store! It says that it now supports iDrive 7!

I downloaded it and tried to Activate the Video in Motion. The operation goes successful but in the last step of it, I get a notification to do something about the Speed Lock menu. I can't seem to find it. Anyone help?!

The following shots are the messages I get in the sequence they shown.

The combination is to hold the touch knob forward and then hit Media, Home, Media without releasing the touch knob.

Do it manually.

That worked like a charm. I think BimmerCode guys should put clear instructions in the app about it.

Thank you!!

I am working with him on this. I am under the impression that the app should do it but will clarify that.

A beta update should be coming to fix the VIM Activation button combo. The BimmerCode app should do the button combo for you with the iDrive controller pushed forward.

Thanks.

Any idea if some of the other ECUs would be available to tweak? I am especially interested in "Camera-Based Driver Assistance System".

Thank you!

KAFAS or the "Camera System" is still not available. It will take some time. I believe it is one dev.

The Speedlock Activation works in the beta released today. The issue was there are multiple ZBE (iDrive controllers) and they have different message formats.

BDC_BODY will most likely come in the next update. That should allow you to change the startup mode and also enable Sport Plus.

Guess that would solve the concerns.

Here are some of the new options in HU_MGU. Again these are still being tested.
Did anyone notice that if you disable the Auto Start/stop function using the code, it only is active on that particular drive mode, e.g., In my case "comfort drive mode". If I change the mode to let's say Eco Pro, this function is does not work anymore.

Can anyone verify or is there something I'm missing?

It sets the button to remember the last state per drive mode IIRC. Eco always turns it on. Not sure that can be disabled yet.

IC, after all it's the ECO mode, duh. Thanks.

By the way, what's the deal with this OBD item?
Can it do something more than what the BimmerCode can do?

My reference is to the following post.

BMW X7 (G07) | Velos Designwerks OBDII Summer Promo going on now!!

That device just does engine tuning (i.e. increases the HP and TQ of the engine). It does not allow you to code the vehicle like what BimmerCode and E-Sys allow you to do. The device can store multiple tunes, including your original stock tune, and allows you to switch between tunes as you wish. Depending on their pricing structure, you may have to pay for individual tunes or tune "packs". BimmerCode is not an engine tuning tool, it only does coding.

Yeah, many of us are hoping we can eventually code or configure the vehicle to automatically lower to a particularly height every time the ignition is turned off.

I would LOVE to see access to the center cluster, and like they are doing here to show the updated Assisted Drive display where the Map shows when activated.

https://g05.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1650202

Looks like all of the 2020s have this showing, but doesn't seem like the 2019s will get access for SOME reason, without a little workaround.
