Lane Dept Warning
This is the setting I changed. From factory, it was set to reduced I believe. That caused the ping pong with assisted driving. If you change it to early, seems to keep it tightly centered on road and feels like it drives itself.
Only thing I don't like, while this setting is best for assisted driving on highway, it sucks on back roads - thinks your going over the line all the time. So I find myself having to constantly change it between early and reduced given i do a lot of highway but also a lot of back roads. Needs 2 settings, one for when assisted driving, one when not |

Will this system allow you to cruise at speeds above the speed limit on the highway? I ask since I believe the X7 comes with speed limit sign recognition (my F80 M3 has this feature) and was wondering if BMW used it to limit the max speed the system will operate, as a safety feature....

That may be coming in the next generation of vehicle automation evolution for BMW, where vehicles can automatically speed up and slow down based on speed limit sign changes. If and when that happens, it will remain to be seen if it still allows cruise about the speed limit. For now, though, not a functional capability, and not an issue.

Anyone know if the 2019 X7 is going to get this update to iDrive? Maybe as an over the air update? Love how the graphic captured the vehicles in the center cluster.
Saw this in the X5 forum, for a new 2020 M50i |

It's great in stop and go traffic. It sucks at freeway speeds. It bounces from one side of the lane to the other and gets confused if the sun is glaring off the concrete freeways of LA. The adaptive cruise control works good.
