Pricing Speculation on 2021 X7 45e

Really wish I could be in the hybrid in the spring next year but that aint happening, neither is the M50d.

How do you think the PHEV 45e is going to be priced? Between the 40i & M50i I would think, closer to the 50 but still less. Hopefully theres an MSport trim, surely there will be as the 5series has MSport, but I cant remember if the old X5e had MSport.

My fear is the demand might be high and deals might not be as good as they are now on the X7. Likely there will still be the full EV credit when it arrives, though that could disappear quickly with all what they have coming out next year.

Where do these “good deals now” on X7’s exist??

I'd say 10% off is a good deal...

Not confirmed, but it is happening for model year 2021, question is will it be available right when 2021's go into production, it might be delayed till mid model year.

We shall see.

Here's the latest investor presentation that has some of the product roadmap.

Wow!

Thanks for sharing this info. I kind of feel that gasoline cars now in production would soon to go obsolete (2021?!). That roadmap in the PDF is really scary to see the pace of Electric cars adaptation by the BMW group.

I talked to them back in 2014 on this topic. they said it is impossible to meet long term global C02 reduction regulations without electrification.

First move was engine downsizing with turbos. This has played out. Next are plug in hybrids and eventually full electric:

Huh? With all due respect, I think you are completely missing things in that presentation.

Page 5 is "purposely misleading" so not entirely your fault. But, "electrification" for BMW is heavily skewed towards PHEV and not pure EV. So, the combustion engine is alive and well and will remain such for many years to come.

1. On page 5, BMW "electrification" sales for 2019 are running behind those in 2018 (pro-rating 7 months versus 12 months). Ha, ha, ha - negative growth! BS baffles as they say. And 500,000 global units on the road is a pittance against the tens of millions of BMW currently on the road globally.

2. On page 6, BMW have sold very few pure EV cars and have few high volume plans at all. That is apparent from "above the line" versus "below the line." So, in other words, BMW have negligible plans for pure EV at this time.

This is from someone who currently exclusively drives BMW's and has also put down a cash deposit on a Rivian SUV. EV are coming. Slowly. And just not in a meaningful way to a BMW dealership anytime soon.

Hope this helps. And thanks to like2short for sharing.

Future BMW platforms can be built as ICE, PHEV or full electric. BMW admits they don't know where demand will be so the platforms have to accommodate all 3.

Yeah besides any pure EV platform like iNext or i4, all the other model series are supposedly going to be designed that they can accept any one of the 3 power trains. But the question is for things just released (G07, G05, G20, G30) or to be released in the near future (4 series, etc) are those platforms capable of that, or is it only for the models replaced in 2022+.

How will they reconcile the already small behind third row cargo area ?

I don’t know, this gen of hybrid from them maybe too compromised for my tastes
