Connected App - Connected Command

I haven't seen anyone mention it, but I noticed Connected Command in the app. It only shows up when connected to the car.

It reminds me of Touch Command. Does anyone else have this?

What am I missing here?! I just updated my App yesterday but it does not show any Connected Features in it!

Does it check what software version of your Headunit is and then install the Connected feature on it?

It's getting so annoyed with BMW. They are literally creating too many things to deal with.

Were you connected to the car WiFi?

I can connect to the car Wifi and do it but will it still work if my car WiFi (the hotspot feature that gives the phone internet connectivity) has expired?

You have a good point but can you please explain it a bit more? Thanks.

Hmmm haven't tried that yet but what good would it be when you are in the car and tweaking with those functions on your phone when you know that it can be done by accessing to the head unit in front of you?! Thanks.

Finally worked!

It's weird that it does not let you change the climate control settings for the driver side only.

Thanks for the help!

Well it is pretty akin to Touch Command which isn't for the driver. It's for the passengers to change settings to their likings.

My kid can't reach the AC controls from his car seat but can use his tablet to turn it on and off.

I believe touch command was originally for backseat passengers in a 7 series such as those who have a driver. You wouldn't have to lean forward to change settings.

On that iPad for the kids, have you downloaded them the same BMW Connected App that you have? Isn't it scary if they remotely lock/unlock it, or is it a modified version with limited features?
