I'm pretty disappointed with the reveal. It's $150k+ while still not matching the Model S range. I thought this was going to be starting under $100k. It's basically overpriced and under performs. People on Rennlist are getting their deposits back for the Model S. You know Porsche dropped the ball when that happens.

Same, I was expecting it to be quicker as well. Not totally surprised the P100D the quicker to 60, but it's strange that even their own Panamera is quicker

Goddamn it does look good though

I believe they will be offering their base model in the future which will be sub 100K as these are nice but at the top end of the market.

If only BMW could compete and build a sleek 4door EV, but ofcourse they took the big SUV route, so predictable.

Also, what's with the turbo moniker? They should have came up with something else to name higher end models.

They are trying to keep the modeling the same as the other prod cars I suppose to define model levels and expectations.

Why are they calling it a "Turbo" when it's not a Turbo?

The Taycan and Model S aren't even comparable. The Porsche wipes the floor with it. Sure the range is similar or a bit less, but you have a legitimate driver's car that can launch endlessly without losing power, can lap a track, and has impeccable build quality.

Porsche knows what they're doing, and unlike Tesla they know how to turn a profit. As for the Turbo moniker, that adheres to tradition and resonates with consumers. What else would they have named it?

When people on Rennlist are dropping Taycan deposits for the Model S, you know they're comparable. People wouldn't be looking at both if they weren't.

Yeah but Rennlist is just a forum just like Bimmerpost is, it's not representative of most buyers. Just because a few vocal dudes online got upset doesn't mean most deposit holders are disappointed.

The Model S definitely has its redeeming qualities, but with sales at their lowest level since 2013 (right after its launch) things aren't looking great. Model 3 cannibalized its sales and the Taycan will steal some more.

750 hp is a lot. 5100+ lbs is a shit-ton.

Same reason they call a 911 Turbo a turbo even when the regular 911 is also a turbo.

Would be great to put a "Turbo" badge on a regular 911, then argue you're not a poser.

Pretty disappointed. Price and weight are equally bloated. Not even going to compete in the same stratosphere as the Model S.

To be fair, interior and exterior fit and finish as well as quality of materials should be leagues above Tesla. But not $50k+ better.
