Ultimate Care plus, did anyone get it?
I got an offer to upgrade from the base to the care plus package for $700. Wondering if it is worth it, especially since it includes breaks replacement. I have the M breaks with our i40 model. So I checked around the the replacement cost, including labor, is $1800.
Wondering if after the 3 years I can have BMW replace the breaks. Any one get this or have experience upgrading. Anyone negotiate the price down? Is the package worth it? |

I purchased UC+ for my 2020 G05 and M550i ($700 per vehicle), both with M Sport brakes, knowing how expensive the replacement costs were. BMW suggested pricing for UC+ is $700 but your dealer could have marked it up more. Also UC+ covers the first 3yr/36K miles: - UC+1 4yr/50K is $1399 - UC+2 5yr/75K is $2799

FWIW, I have 46k+ miles on my F80 M3, all street miles (no track - but I still have "fun" on the road) and my brakes (pads & rotors) have plenty of life left - both based on CBS and visual observation. I could not find a comprehensive list of what other wear/tear items Ultimate Care + covers, but $700 seems a lot for what would most likely be a few wiper blade replacements. Hell, I even still have my original wiper blades at 46k+ miles and they are still running strong. I say it is not worth it - for any BMW model for that matter.

It was included on my F16 (prior to the change) and I added it to my F15 (and now the G07). I think it's worth it for the heavy cars, but I did not have m-sport brakes in any of them so I can't speak to those in an SUV. My F80 has m-sport brakes of course, and they still show 40,000 miles to go after driving for 2 years/ hard 20,000 miles.
I had my rear brakes replaced in the F16 and both Front and Rear in the F15. I had to fight to get the rears done within 36,000 miles in my F15 (it was saying 3,000 to go miles for a while), but the service manager pushed it through for me. I guess the wipers might depend on the weather, how you store the car, etc.. My G07 is outside so I tend to rip them apart with ice. I easily go through a set of wipers a year, if I see a streak I can't solve with cleaning, I head down to get a new set right away.

I had to replace front brakes at 21K and rears at 25K for 2013 GL450. For 2017 GLS550, replaced front and rears for at 24K miles. I took the coverage for X7 and M5C as well. In my experience, large SUV's tend to eat brakes faster than sedans.

Interesting, just tried and it doesnt appear to show anything regarding the pads in iDrive7 currently (@3700 miles). Its just showing service, oil, and brake fluid. I tried utilizing the bmw assistant (hey bmw) and it told me it will appear when the brake pads start to wear.

Appreciate all of the responses. Sounds like folks have different experiences. I am going to chat with my dealer and see if they are able to provide any additional incentives. I am certainly driving more aggressively so leaning on getting the additional package. Will let you all know how it goes.
