Take photo of x5. Then bring said photo about 20-30% closer to your face. Wala, X7!
This was about what my comment was going to say. Msport front gapes on that thing will swallow children whole.

BMW is going to make so much money off these. Mercedes GL is a good truck with a dated/questionable interior and I just think the Q7 is ass u-g-l-y

This thing is going to look like a beast on the road with how BMW likes to have massive openings on this generation of X cars. Can't wait for the renders.

Do we know what the chassis it's being built on or is that still to be determined? I would assume it would use the X5 and if Mercedes can sell about 23k GL's in a year average, BMW is going to get that money!

Good news! My wife refuses to drive a minivan, and with 1000 kids (it seems), options are limited. We will definitely be interested in an X7 for the family outings.

About freakin time. BMW late to the party as usual.... But I can't wait to see it!!

Adios third row option on the x5! Question is will this be in time to still be an F platform or will it co-develop on the next G series platform?

They'll find a way of spinning this as BMW leading the market in innovation.

Other than being a halo car, how many super expensive supercars do you think could be sold per year? There is only so much market boost you can get from that type of vehicle. You have to be able to justify the development, training, and marketing costs verses what you can make in selling the silly thing. If and when they think there is a profitable market, I'm pretty sure they'd build one.

Just like your observation that they may be 'behind' on developing a 3-row 7-passenger vehicle...it's safer, and often more profitable to wait for the market demand to occur rather than be the pioneer. You have the opportunity to avoid what people do not like in the existing models IOW, free marketing research.

The situation on the I-series is somewhat different...the process technology was (IMHO) worth it to expand the horizon of their whole line, and not be just restricted to the I-brand itself.
