Assuming the get the styling and pricing right this thing is going to sell extremely well, although will likely cannibalize some X5 buyers.

I don't understand who will afford this? Considering the pricing similarities of the 5 series to the x5, what's a base x7 40i going to be, like $75k, and a 50i like $95K? And that's just base models!

You can throw hypotheticals around all you want but the fact is, it will sell. Mercedes sell about 23,000 GL's a year on average at a starting price of $63k. The X7 is probably going to be a bit more expensive but nothing significant in this price range. Any doubts you might have, go look at Mercedes pricing. It's not like BMW is out here alone with a 7-seater.

Do we really need another? The X5 wasn't big enough? Now we have an X1/X3/X5/X6, with an X2, X4, and X7 on their way? Ridiculous.

1-7 series, and an X1-7, it makes sense... But I think they should ditch the X1 since they dropped the 1 series (in the US).

@Jason
You forgot to mention the several hundred new jobs at Spartanburg.
Is the drawing in opening post a draw of the new X7, or is it more similar to the previous drawing you have presented?

It will sell great and add me to the list! The MB is a soft ride and would prefer some more lively handling that the X7 will surely have compared to how well the x5 could be thrown around in a auto cross course. I think BMW would be smart if they stayed under the GL pricepoint. With the included maintenance and good looks it will be a no brainer

Jason,
Thanks for the information.
It was logical that by missing a 7-passenger SUV, BMW takes me a little time to do it, but finally decided, is good news.
It was time.
BMW also becomes the premium car marker that most utility vehicles built in the United States, only to wait if they continue with that with the next generation of the new X1 and X2.

At least there will be some practicality here and no fake sporting pretensions like x2, x4, x6!!

You should actually go and drive the X6. No fake sporting pretentious there thanks to its Dynamic Performance control.
The X4 will award the driver as will the X2 to distinguish the sportier variants for the more practical variants.

The new 7-series drive extremely well.

I don't know...

The X3 is really more in line as a Q3 competitor with its arrival.

MINI Countryman / PACEMAN X1 X2 X3 X4 X5 X6 X7 Rolls-Royce

Q1. Q2 Q3 Q4 Q5 Q6 Q7 Q8 Q9

The arrival of the X7 signifies the appearance of a Rolls-Royce SUV
Both will use a V12. The BMW will have an output not that far off the Rolls-Royce Wraith , the Rolls-Royce will have a significant increase in output.

No, the Q3 is Audi's answer to the X1.

Whatever is underneath the cover....it is considerably larger than the F85 X5M sitting next to it....and the X5 is currently the largest vehicle in BMW's lineup...#StumpTheSpyShooter #Mystery. Not sure? Thanks PalBay. X7???

Indeed. Saw the Q3 in person in France. It's quite puny.
