BimmerCode Video in Motion

After purchasing BimmerCode, purchase adapter and completing the steps to add VIM on the X7 it still doesn't work. When I insert the 128 mb usb in port near cup holder, it only shows the title of the 2 movies I purchased from iTunes and the two YouTube videos I downloaded.

I followed all the steps in BimmerCode and have also coded several other items and they work flawlessly but VIM doesn't for some reason. I can't see any picture on the screen at all. When I click the title, it acts like it's playing but no visual at all. HELP??

The app says VIM is a active. Help.

Try streaming from your phone. Titles from iTunes and Youtube often have copy protection so you may not be able to play them without the phone/computer.

Are those videos in an MP4 file format? Are they encoded with a CODEC that idrive 7 supports?

Easiest way to test VIM is to stream content from your phone/tablet while moving.

Upon coding VIM and following the activation sequence in Bimmercode, you should see the speed lock menu come up on your main display. Are you seeing that? It took me a few tries to get it to appear.

I had to manually go in and deactivate the speed lock after I coded VIM.

Sorry I missed something here....assuming VIM is enabled, what do you mean by "streaming" and how do you do that? Does it work for iPhones? Thanks.

On Android you can use the build in miracast capabilities to mirror the screen of your device to the idrive 7 display.

Iphone should have similar capabilities but I haven't specifically tested it.

Hold the idrive dial up while pressing media, home media.

That should open the service menu and selects deactivate

You may have to do it faster with buttons media/home/home button from what video is showing below..

But when some mentioned pushing up, I was pushing up from back of knob. As in video.

You should see these screens when your in speedlock menu.

Thank you, was able to get to the speed lock menu. You guys are awesome 🤩

Regarding screen mirroring - I was trying to do this with my iPhone but can’t connect. If I am trying to do this wirelessly do I HAVE to have a data plan through the car WiFi ? Or will it work without it?

Screen mirroring is not supported by Apple. This only works with Android devices. Tested this with a Note and it does work.
