OEM color is "Brooklyn Grey Metallic". It's a standard color option for the X7. It's the first photo with the flag. That's how it looks without XPEL stealth PPF. It's glossy and shows a reflection.

The matte/stealth PPF is transparent and doesn't change the color of the paint underneath. It just changes the sheen and appearance of the paint. Instead of being glossy, it's now silky smooth and enhance shadows and body lines. It looks really cool on an overcast day with intermittent sun.

That thing is beautiful, fantastic build!!!

Is it on lowering links or is that factory stance with the HREs?

Thanks! OEM links. Photos were taken at loading height on the air suspension.

Looks great! The contrast between the gloss black pieces and stealth / matte on the Brooklyn gray looks amazing! Nice job

How long did it take you to wrap it yourself? Are you on lowering springs or links?

It says winter wheels. Are you taking them off when spring arrives and going back to the OEM's? I hope not.

Wow that looks spectacular! If your wife is anything like mine, get ready for some curb rash on those beautiful wheels, lol.

Thanks! It's on OEM air suspension at the lowest parked/loading position. Air suspension is standard on all X7.

DIY PPF bulk install probably took 50-60 man hours. I kind of lost track since it was done over a two week period in my garage with a lot of down time in-between. PPF is a wet install. Meaning you spray a lot of water to slide and stretch the material during installation. After you get it tacked down, you usually have to wait for the edges to dry out before trimming and edge wrapping it. So application wise it probably takes longer than vinyl wrap (which I've never really done) since with vinyl you don't have to wait for anything to dry before finishing a body panel.

TBD

IMO the 23" 914i wheels are the best looking OEM wheels on the X7. The downside is tires are very hard to source, pretty expensive and only comes in summer tires. Hence not many people get this option. Big 23" silver wheels do look good once in motion though. I might put the 23" wheels on for a few months during the summer to change up the look.

Mods: XPEL Stealth, HRE FF10, IND painted reflector, 50th anniversary roundel, front lip, tinted windows 35% front/50% back

This was what it looked like on pickup day. A rainy Veteran’s day and this photo opportunity came up.

Installed XPEL stealth PPF and HRE “winter wheels” w/all season tires. Added a front lip which transforms the aggressiveness of the front end. Still waiting for the rest of the aero parts to arrive. It’s a very unique color with the stealth PPF. The ceramic coating adds some depth and richness to the matte/stealth look. Our first vehicle with a matte finish but the wife agreed to it. It was a DIY install that took quite a bit of man hours to complete. Overall she’s been happy with the transformation so far.

Wow best one I seen

Winter wheels and All season tires? Why not get proper winter tires?

We’re in the mid-Atlantic and it’s snowed maybe three inches total in the past three years. But due to the temps dropping to the teens during winter time you can’t use summer tires year around. Occasionally we get years of blizzards though.
