I'm actively trying to find someone to code VLD and Anti-dazzle for me, but since iDrive 8 is a whole different animal than iDrive 7, my normal coding guy (coded VLD and anti-dazzle on my 2022 X7) wasn't able to gain access to anything. Hoping he figures it out soon but am also talking to Bimmer-Tech to see if their coding team out of Europe is able to help. If anyone knows anyone that can code iDrive 8, I'd appreciate the recommendation. |

UPDATE. I contacted BMW corporate and got up the chain and the guy wouldn't confirm or deny anything is a bug or that anything is wrong. Different than what I heard from the other folks I spoke to. They won't say it's a problem and they won't say it's not. They acknowledged it is "the way it is" and wrote this to me:
"The low-beam headlight pattern that is projected is due to the positioning of the different lamps within the headlight assembly. When you engage the high-beam, the low-beam is disengaged and as a result, the light profile is modified." So I don't see a fix coming soon. But I am sure they know people are annoyed. |

Also there is a law in the US, can't recall the exact name of the bill, that prohibits manufacturers from voiding a warranty because someone did aftermarket changes. To what extent it applies to this situation I'd have to let someone who has actually issues with their car comment. There is always the option of restoring the original code before you take it in for service. |

Gonna just say it, these look like nipples. Really gives new meaning to flashing another driver. Like I wasn't already excited to get my X7. I'm going to flash everyone and giggle every single time. 😂😂😂
If nothing else this is a great conversation piece with your buddies. Bravo, Germany! |

On a serious note, this more than annoying. On a dark back road it's an actual distraction as it bounces up and down based on the movement of the vehicle. |

Once you've seen the flaw you can't un-see it. It will always be there and your brain will tell your eyes to look at it every time you drive at night.

My 23 X7 has the same problem.
This has been an issue with BMW headlights for years. My 21 M5C has the same issue. Was at the dealer multiple times (amongst a ton of other things). They never corrected it. One time they said it doesn't look right, but never offered a solution. Another time they compared it to other LCI 5-series they had and said its similar. I just gave up trying for a fix. Just crap quality from their LED headlight supplier. The fact they can't properly aim the high and low beams is hilarious. How this passed BMW QC for years now is a joke. I have never gotten in a car and seen a distinct non uniform light gap between the high and low beams. This is just poor aiming. How hard is it to bring the high beams down slightly. Here is my post from January 21. https://f90.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1793234
