What's interesting is that 19" winter setup for the CCB optioned M3/M4 was available as of Monday!
Any chance you can post the name of your dealership? Even with the wait due to back-order, it would be nice to know where to get this deal from.

I spoke with so many guys today (4 dealers) that I am 100% certain the 513s aren't backordered. It's the 640M winter setup that is lacking in availability. To elaborate - there are 150 front wheels available as of today in the system - all available to ship from Germany. The 513M in the rear has an available to ship quantity of 11 in the US. So - no backorder. Instant availability for the rears, couple weeks for the fronts. This deal of $590 for a Conti Contact, 513M wheel straight up doesn't exist. The OP may have gotten this great deal - but it's not a sale, special, program, etc. All four dealers checked internal memos dating back to August - no mention of any of this...

Agree with this 100% but got slightly different availability #'s today. SO here is what I was told a 2pm today after my dealer's parts manager called BMWNA and something called "BMW Tire"(?). Here is what I was told today.

1) 18" 640 style wheel is back ordered to at least November. Was not given a firm date but told 100% certain before 12/1/14 but not before 11/1/14. There are currently (30) placed orders in the US for the complete wheel and tire setup as described above and is currently the most in demand set of winter wheels and tires in the US. I was quoted a price including the TPMS, tax and everything needed to bolt directly the car just under $2600. This was the complete set INCLUDING the TPMS sensors which he had to call his contact at BMW Tire to confirm.

2) The factory 18" wheel (I think style 513) is available to purchase and was told there are currently (10) front wheels available in the US and several hundred available in Germany with an ETA of 7 to 10 days. Was quoted a price of just over $500 per wheel.

I am on the fence on ordering the 640 wheel package. While I think the price is decent for a BMW factory set of wheels I just don't like the look of the wheel. I much prefer the look of the 513 wheel (I have the 19" black wheels now). I spoke to the rep from Tire Rack today and there are more options available for 18" tires than the 19" size. For a few $100 more I think I am going to order the factory 513 wheels and TPMS sensors from a BMW dealer (the TPMS sensors where cheaper thru the dealer than Tire Rack) and source the tires from either Tire Rack or another vendor. I will end up with (2) factory M3 wheel sets and if I decide to sell the car it should be easier to sell the factory wheels than an after market set and probably for more money. I am a fan of the stock look of cars and this option, while not the least expensive, will give me the option of switching wheels and tires out while maintaining a stock look year round. Just my thoughts

Exactly my thinking. I purchased a set of 513M's yesterday and now begin the hunt for winter tires- not a lot of options, and nothing il available in the stock size. Surprised that BMW didn't ask Michelin for a snow tire when they contracted them for the special pilot super sports.

Alright I went to my dealership yesterday, and the package is as stated above delayed. My dealership did state to check back in a week or so for any status updates.

Fronts :$675.29 each
Back :$684.71 each = $2,720 installed.
They did state they are offering 10% off tire packages, but not sure if this included this or not. +1 on the $5xx price( Noted in a post above), I glanced over and saw the cost price I think around $545 per tire/rim.

Next I did some research found these tires will fit the 19 OEM rims as staggered. However, two options you will have to do different speed ratings, 130 vs 149. Anyone see any major issue with this idea? Obliviously, one won't be tracking or doing 130+ mph in the snow.

And your F'd in the A on the 18s. You will for sure have to get different rims or do some tire fitting for winter tires.

Pirelli Sottozero 3 (Unknown Price sizes are listed on Pirelli.com)
255/35R19 96H (130mph)
275/35R19 96V (149mph)

Pirelli SottoZero Series 2 @ Tirerack $1466

255/35R19 96W (168mph over) $336
275/35R19 100W (168mph over) $397

Bridgestone Bilzzak LM-32 @ Tirerack $1226

255/35R19 96H (130mph) $292
275/35R19 96V (149mph) $321

Plus side is when I went outside, there was a nice crowd of service guys around the car. , and some whore in a Honda.

Thoughts??

I went with the 513's purchased from another forum member for my winter setup. For tires:
From TireRack
Fronts - Pirelli Sottozero 245/40/18
Rears - Pirelli Sottozero Serie II 265/40/18

This was the best solution I could come up with for the OEM 18's. The tread patterns are almost exact - I think the tire siping is a little different from front to back, and because the fronts are a previous generation, the rubber compounds may be a bit different. But, this shouldn't matter much. The next best solution was Michelin Alpin PA2 in 255/40/18 front and 265/40/18 rear. The Michelin solution is okay but the stagger is not in an equal ratio to the OEM equipment. This may not be a big deal - though it may not look ideal and there's a very small chance that the traction control is a bit off because of the ratio's between rolling diameters being "off". This is not likely to be an issue, but worth noting. Michelin and Pirelli both advise against using different tread patterns - no Serie II with Serie III, not PA2 with PA4, not Serie II rear, with Serie II run-flat in the front... Bottom line - there isn't an ideal setup for the 18's or 19's - but the acceptable solutions are there, and will sell out of availability.

All said and done, by the time I have my winter setup I'll be all-in for $3350 - 513M wheels, tires, tpms, mounting. I think that's pretty reasonable considering I'm getting a staggered setup with sick forged wheels, OEM tpms sensors, and high-end Pirellis. The $2720 for the winter package doesn't include tpms sensors. so if you add in the $400 inflated charge the dealers quoted me for new tpms, you're at $3120 - I like my deal MUCH better.

Oh- and there may potentially be an OEM solution for 18's in the Sottozero Run-flats - but the front 255/40/18 isn't available yet. The sales rep at TireRack said 11/28 was in his system for availability but that that frequently gets pushed back. I'd rather not put all of my eggs in that basket...
