Finally came/adviced neede.Dent/scratch. Will you guy live with or try to remove it?

Picked up my new 23 X7 few months ago. Although I took great care of it, someone else still gave me a heavy ding when opened their door.
It's on my driver's door and so obvious everytime when I get on my car. A thin 1-inch long scratch with slight dent. Can't tell which type of scratch it. See below

What's the best options and potention cost for just using touch up method VS totally repair whole door panel(or don't needed to replace whole panel) ?

Do you suggest find a body shop to remove it or find mobile dent remove service? Or should I just live with it? I own this car and probably will drive for few years untill sell it.

Thanks for your guys advice

that looks like it could just be paint transfer. PDR plus some polishing compound. contact a mobile dent removal service first. body shop will want to repaint the whole door and blend the surrounding panels.

Doesn’t look like PDR to me. I would try to get the dent removed, and touch it up. Collect a couple more dents before deciding to paint the entire door.

Where I am on the west coast the shop I use charges $150 per panel (regardless of # of dents on that panel). He'll usually do touchup paint for free if you have him remove the dent(s) in that panel.

Really sorry to hear this happened. Had a hit and run in a parking lot myself a few weeks back after babying the car since I got it, so know how that feels!

https://g07.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...hlight=hit+run

I took mine to a BMW collision center, and they realized after removing the fender, that the side of the headlight assembly housing was cracked by the dent and so needs to be replaced and the headlights are apparently backordered with no ETA . And yes, as already mentioned in this thread, if the panels have to be replaced, they will have to blend with the surrounding panels as they are going to do with mine

Here's hoping yours is not that complicated and you can just get the dent fixed quick without too much trouble!

Thanks for info! That's a little bit cheaper than I thought. BTW, Do they use BMW touch up paint pen or they use their own?

The guy I use is also hired by all the local dealers to do PDR for their cars, so he has BMW factory paint in his van and uses that to do touchup.

Thanks for sharing! I'll see if dent remove service will work for this scratch. Hope your parts will come soon. I'm backordering one of ambient light parts since April and still no ETA. They said this part need to be made in German but other parts made in USA was much faster.
