There's also a new option for the M50i:

ZXC Dark Shadow Edition $9,800
490 Special Order Color
938 BMW Individual Components
940 Special Order Equipment
ZS5 Alcantara Headliner in Coordinated Upholstery Color

New M Sport brake caliper option too: 3M3 M Sport Brakes with Black Caliper

When do you expect the 2021 Ordering and Pricing guides to be available to post / share on this site? thanks in advance.

After more thought I agree, this may also be Phytonic Blue or Tanzanite.

Your dealer should have them, that's where I got the new pricing and packages.

I agree, the 20-spoke 23" look great. BTW, my SA ask the Alpina XB7 rep what color this pre-production models is, it's Phytonic Blue. That's what I thought it was. I want to see it Alpina Blue which is coming later.
I sure wouldn't want to wash the brake dust off those wheels by hand. Way too much time and effort.

Nothing like a brake caliper and wheel off ceramic coat (coat faces and inner barrels) and high pressure washer couldn't solve. Cuts down on the hassle of cleaning M sport brake dust.

I had ceramic done on my M2 Comp wheels when it was brand new. Admittedly I do not use a pressure washer. Just a guess - I can't imagine using a pressure washer constantly to clean these wheels isn't going to cause some damage down the road. This is just my personal perspective - admittedly not speaking with any professional knowledge.

Damm I am reading this as if I had all the money for this one and was waiting for this article to release. One day though.
Wait 3 years and you can pick up a preowned one for 50%.
Is that not relevant comment to any car?

FYI: Alpina Blue and Green exterior color options are delayed as follows:

Alpina Blue delayed until December 2020
Alpina Green delayed until April 2021

Very odd why they can't mix these custom paint colors at a plant here in the US. It's just paint!

Because the current Spartanburg X5/6/7 manufacturing line isn't set up for 490 BMW Individual special paint requests other than the current SABI Individual paint which is shared across the 3 vehicles - TB2 and Ametrin.

When ordering SABI Individual paints for other BMW models, the factory needs to halt the entire line and switch out the paint in the robots just to do one of these custom colors. But this isn't the case for the X models. Per BMWNA, BMW Individual special paints program is expected to be available from 08/2020 onwards.

Due to the pandemic, I'm sure this option and availability date will be pushed further back, just as the ALPINA custom paints have.

Our dealer is offering 6% off MSRP for an Alpina XB7 equipped anyway we want it and basically wholesale for our 2019 X7 50i ($72K).

I don't know what dealer invoice is for the XB7 but it's likely the same as the 2020 Alpina B7 which is 6.6% (MSRP $142,800 - Invoice $133,305).

This is a very fair offer but if anyone receives a better offer, please post it.

Where are you seeing those? I can't find them in the guides, nor any description of what Dark Shadow Edition is. I find Google search results for an M2 Black Shadow Edition

I may need more than 523 HP for grocery runs.

I know an extra $38K over a similar M50i is a lot but dang, it would it be sweet to own an ALPINA just once in your life. Just knowing there are so few of them in the USA. But I think it's worth waiting for ALPINA Blue (Dec 2020) or ALPINA Green (April 2021) to be available to help set it apart from a X7. I would go with ALPINA Blue, Ivory interior, and ALPINA Myrtle Wood trim (beautiful wood) and of course the 23" wheels.

My MSRP: $152,195.

My MSRP: $156,895 ....noticed you can't get ambient air or night vision ($2650 total) which I got with the M50i I now have on order.

In the end for my configuration it's about $35k saved at a loss of 89HP but a gain of ambient+vision. I can live with that

I would say the loaded 2020 M50i is quite a deal compared to the 2021 loaded Alpina...but granted less exclusive than an Alpina... which I can also live with

Well said. It'd be easier to justify splurging on the Alpina if they retained their value better than history would suggest. F01 B7's can be had for the $50's-60's these days.

6% only....that seems low on an Alpina. I would push for 8-10% off prior to incentives... if any. I can easily get >7% discount even on an ordered X7 (non Alpina).
