Request for Los Angeles Auto Show attendees

This weekend, the LA Auto Show will publicly unveil the X7. For anyone that goes, it would be great if you could take pictures, inside and out.

Specifically, can you check into the 2nd row seat legroom? Ask the BMW officials if legroom changes at all, whether you get the 2nd row bench or captains' chairs. And for the captain chair adjustments, can the fore-aft adjustment slide BACK at all, to increase 2nd row legroom beyond the stated 37.6"? Or does it only slide FORWARD from the 37.6", to give more room to the 3rd row?

If anyone is so inclined, would also be great to give feedback to the BMW officials that more than one of us would like the option to delete the 3rd row, and give 7-series luxury-like legroom to the 2nd row.

37.6 is max. Wouldn’t make any sense to list anything but. By max I mean second row slid all the way back , first row slid all the way back. If you were to move the front row forward that 37.6 increases

Your delete wish will prob come true in some future variant. And if you live in China

Are you at the auto show?

Same request, please, for anyone that attends, to ask the questions, particularly captain's chairs vs. bench legroom.

No not there, but my post is the answer to your question. If you want max legroom in the first row and min legroom in the third row, you will have 37.6 in the second row. Think about it, there is no other way to logically communicate dimensions. It’s never been done any other way

Bench vs captain same legroom second row, per BMW

I tried it, its fine and the 3rd row is fine, but it's not 7 series good in the 2nd row.

I went to the LA auto show yesterday morning. Got there right when it opened.

The X7 was locked.

I even asked two BMW reps if they could open the rear hatch so the cargo area/3rd row could be seen. No dice. So lame.

On another note, the kidney grills didn't seem so ridiculous in the flesh.

Didn't take any pics.

Well, that changes my plans to go to the car show. I was planning on taking my wife so that she can see the X7 before we configure and submit our existing pre-order. There's no point in doing that now if the car isn't even open.

Yeah, I drove there from San Diego just to see the X7. I was rather disappointed.

I was considering flying in, just to see the X7, but wasn't able to. That would have been a pisser to do all that, and then not be allowed inside the car.
