This may be not on topic but I leased an X7, got around 12% off MSRP. MF was base rate. I got a great deal...the only thing is that it had around 100 miles on it. Should I be worried? Was it a demo car and that's why I got a good deal? They explained the mileage is because they had to drive it from another dealer.

I doubt it was a demo as they have to disclose that by law I think. Also a demo would have a lot more miles. 100 miles doesn't seem unreasonable although it's on a higher end of what I would find reasonable for a new car.

I second what you say. Over the years, I have purchased/leased "new" cars that had up to 200 miles or so. If it's still on its first tank of gas, I never really raised an issue.

best i've gotten so far on a 20 is 8% (without any other incentive applied) but i haven't pressed them. seems like a decent deal. If you do get that or higher, please PM me. I would appreciate it!

if you factor in BMW CCA rebate and loyalty, thats about $2250, which would probably get you close to or past 10% off msrp.

Those of you who have placed an order and not purchased something on the dealers lot, is it true that the dealer is not willing to negotiate a better price on vehicles ordered vs. what is on the lot? As soon as the 2020 US configurator comes up I will place an order.

Dealer priority is always to clear out the lot.

So yes, an equally equipped vehicle off the lot vs. one that will be ordered should have a higher discount potential.

Of course, with so many options to chose from, odds finding exactly what you want on a lot are like winning the lottery..

I just bought from Momentum BMW in Houston. I'm not local and handled the transaction almost entirely via email. I had a great experience and would recommend them. Ask for Aaron Anderson.

1) reliabilty - if you are willing to sell the car early because of poor reliability, you will most likely not do well on the resale. Lease residuals of 60% are very good compared to recent history. You can also swap a lease to get out early (I assume BMW allows it but am not 100% sure). If reliability is a concern, I would rather lease.
I definitely agree on leasing instead of buying if reliability is a concern, especially if you negotiate a good lease deal because swapping out would be that much more attractive to the buyer assuming they don't mind dealing with the warranty as much. BMW does allow lease assumptions (buyer pays a ~$450 fee to cover the paperwork). You could also trade a leased car just like any other car, you'll have a payoff you could check at any point in the lease in the same manner as if you financed the whole car, so you basically have 2 outs.

Thoughts? Good deal?
My dealer told me the test drive does not count on the X7 is that true or bad info?

Bad info - I got the test drive incentive - closed the deal last week as per what I outlined.

Yeah, it's pretty simple, the dealer should take care of just about everything for you. If all goes well, the main difference is you'll have to get a temporary/transport tag from the dealer to driver it back to your home state, then you'll do the actual registration there.

Assuming you're financing or leasing with BMWFS, they should be able to take care of all the taxes and transfer everything to your home state accordingly, if the financial adviser isn't used to dealing with the intricacies of your home state, they may very well mess something up. If they do, it might be annoying but not horrible (happened to me once), the state will sort it out and you'll either get a bill or check for the mistake. I ended up getting a check from the dealer because they charged like $80 too much on my cash due at signing on a lease, but they at least had the payments right.

Depends on how you negotiate your deal. I just bought from a dealer in Houston - live about 600 miles away in Arkansas. I negotiated my deal and then paid for the transportation separately out of my own pocket. Either way it goes, you will pay for the transport - either out of pocket after the fact or by virtue of a smaller discount to compensate for the transportation costs.
